Description

Another rare live performance from the beginning of the 1981 “MOB RULES” tour is back! On November 19th, the fourth performance since the start of the tour (the second after the first day among the sound sources whose existence has been confirmed), the Maple Leaf Garden performance in Toronto, Canada was recorded in high quality audience recording. This work became a big topic among enthusiastic SABBATH fans, and was evaluated as a standard sound source of the beginning of the “MOB RULES” tour immediately after its release three years ago. This work, which depicts the live performance at that time in detail, is a must-have and must-listen title for SABBATH fans, along with “TURN UP THE MOB TOUR” which recorded the first day of the tour! This work uses the highest level of master available directly, so the freshness and clarity of the sound are impeccable, and an excellent S/N ratio is achieved. Although it is a somewhat distant audience recording overall, the separation of each part is quite high for that time, and you can hear each member’s play firmly with a well-balanced sound. In terms of sound quality, it is easier to listen to than “TURN UP THE MOB TOUR”, and you should be able to listen to the whole show without feeling tired or stressed. The pitch that was a concern with the original master has of course been adjusted just right, and the tight play will make the listener realize the greatness of Ronnie SABBATH. The ’80 tour had a drummer change during the tour, so there was a sense of a “triumvirate” centered around Ronnie Tony Geezer, but after that tour and recording, Vinnie Appice also blended into the band. It was this “MOB RULES” tour that completed the ironclad lineup that would later lead to HEAVEN AND HELL. The live performance that starts quickly with the opening song “Neon Knights” has a ’80s feel to it, and it seems to declare the arrival of a new era. Of course, the heavy performance that is characteristic of SABBATH is a perfect listening experience from beginning to end, and the rivalry between the song and the song in Ronnie’s interpretation of “N.I.B.” and “Black Sabbath” makes these classic numbers more dramatic and melodic. In addition, “Falling Off The Edge Of The World”, which was the last performance of the ’80s, and “Turn Up The Night”, which was not performed again until it was featured at the High Voltage Festival in 2010, Ronnie’s vocals recorded with an on sound give it even more brilliance and persuasiveness, and it is the point that attracts everyone’s ears first. On the first day, “Heaven And Hell” and “Paranoid”, which were seen to have broken the pattern, were also revised to an arrangement conforming to the form of “LIVE EVIL”, and you can enjoy it with a natural composition that “fits what is needed where it should be”. For about 100 minutes until the dramatic “Children Of The Grave” concludes, all aspects of the show continue to overwhelm the listener! The recordings from this day have long been famous among collectors and traders, but there is no evidence that they have been sold as an item in Japan other than this work, and fans who wish to trade them are frustrated by the fact that they “want to listen to them but can’t.” The revival of this work, which fulfills the desire of many fans to “listen,” will once again let many fans know the fun of the early days of the “MOB RULES” tour.
