Description

The 2CD “NAGOYA 1989” (hereinafter referred to as 2CD) is the highest quality live album of Cozy SABBATH @ Japan, which has produced many previous releases. However, this Nagoya performance is not the first time it has been released. Until now, there has been an audience shot known among core enthusiasts as “the only video in Japan in 1989”. This work is one that was created from the highest quality master that exists in that audience shot. It is a precious sight of a Japanese performance, but more than that, it is one that is praised by the world’s complete collectors as “the number one audience shot of “HEADLESS CROSS TOUR 1989”. “HEADLESS CROSS TOUR number 1” is also equal to “number one in the 1980s”. In fact, there are two full audience videos from the 1980s Ronnie James Dio era, and one each from the Ian Gillan, Glenn Hughes, and Ray Gillan eras, but since it was the early days of video, the quality was limited, and most of the videos were like looking for the members in a dark screen. However, this work, filmed in 1989, is extremely bright, and even the cloudy sky painted in the background of the stage set is clearly visible. The image of “80s BLACK SABBATH” is vividly projected. And even more amazing than such beautiful images is the angle. It was shot from a slightly left-side (near Neil Murray) in front of the Aichi Kinro Kaikan looking down, but perhaps because they were in the front row of the second floor seats, there are no shadows of the arms or heads of the people in the front row! The entire field of view of the screen is occupied by BLACK SABBATH. Moreover, the video boldly goes into the zoom zone, and of course Tony Martin and Tony Iommi are featured, as well as Cozy Powell, who goes wild like a god of thunder in a black tank top! Cozy’s features are clearly different from those of ordinary drummers, and this is a disc that will make you grin and say, “After all, Japanese people want to see Cozy.” Of course, the sound cannot be compared to the 2CD, but this disc is packed with the finest visual beauty of Sabbath’s 80s audience. Not only does it expand the imagination of the 2CD, but it is also an outstanding video work. Please enjoy the “pole of Sabbath style” to your heart’s content, along with the superb live album in the main story. Live at Aichi Kinro Kaikan, Nagoya, Japan 21st October 1989 (93:40) 1.
