Description

Introducing a super-fine sound leaked studio album. Our shop has offered many of THE BLACK CROWES’ finest soundboard albums through our own route, and this is the latest. It is a collection of secret studio takes by a master that is not even available on the Internet. The contents of this work are roughly divided into two parts. One is the long album of “THE BAND SESSION”, which was also the prototype of “BY YOUR SIDE”. The other is a complete collection of tracks that appeared for the first time from 1992 to 2006. Both sound sources are treasured items by the original master. It is a super-fine soundboard brought from the same route as the famous album “PITTSBURGH 1998”. Let’s introduce each sound source right away. [Disc 1: Long album of “THE BAND SESSION”] The first to appear is “THE BAND SESSION”, recorded in May 1997. This session is known as an outtake from “BY YOUR SIDE” and was also featured in the official rare track collection “THE LOST CROWES”. In fact, this disc 1 can be said to be a rough mix of “THE BAND SESSION” included in “THE LOST CROWES”. It includes the same takes as the official version, but the sound, mix, and length are completely different. The difference is the length. The official version was about 40 minutes long, but this disc is a long version that lasts for 72 minutes. It’s not just long, but the “sound” recorded there is wonderful. Although the official version is an outtake, it was edited and mixed to a certain extent, giving it the dignity of an “official work”. In contrast, this work is truly “recorded without stopping”. The conversations in the studio are vivid, and there are plenty of counts, redos, and free jams recorded everywhere. One example is “If It Ever Stops Raining”. On the official version, the count comes in after a laugh and the performance begins. However, in this work, the guitar intro is played many times, but it is redone and the conversation even goes as far as, “Did you forget how to play the guitar (laughs)?” The mix of the performance itself is also different. For example, the official version’s “My Heart’s Killing Me” has a fiddle overdubbed, but this work only has the basic track and the fiddle does not appear. Only the “live performance” played in the studio stands out clearly. From the conversation, the liveliness of the performance, to the balance of each instrument, it is the same sound as it is in the studio. It is a session album where you can sit in the studio with THE BLACK CROWES. [Disc 2: Completely unreleased take collection] The following disc 2 is a collection of studio recordings brought from the same route, but this one is quite random. The treasure takes from 1992 to 2006 are lined up in different times and places. I thought about arranging them chronologically, but this is also the truth of the treasured master. This time, the leaked master itself has been accurately put on a disc. The contents can be roughly divided into the following seven types when organized chronologically. October 11, 1992: KINGSWAY STUDIOS (1 song), 1993-1994 “THE TALL” rehearsal (4 songs), October-November 1995 “THREE SNAKES AND ONE CHARM” session (2 songs), November 21, 1996: SOUND OF MUSIC STUDIOS (3 songs), June 1997: PURPLE DRAGON STUDIOS (1 song), November 8, 2005: LA STUDIO (1 song), 2006: MONTANA STUDIO (7 songs) As such, there is a wide variety of takes, from those with specific dates and purposes to those with quite uncertain takes. The sound and degree of completion are all different, so it cannot be said that it is “this kind of recording”. However, what can be said for sure is that all of them are the best quality, released for the first time. All of them are wonderful studio recordings, and the hot rock of THE BLACK CROWES, their raw breath is packed for more than 70 minutes. That’s 39 tracks in total, 2 hours 23 minutes 25 seconds. This is a collection of superb studio recordings leaked through a unique route. It is a top-class source of sound, but more than that, it is even more vivid than “THE LOST CROWES” and brings you even closer to THE BLACK CROWES. Such are the treasures. Please experience it for yourself.
