Description
THE BLACK CROWES’ first visit to Japan was realized in 1992, at the height of their popularity. This is the appearance of a superb live album that conveys the truth. This work is different from any other live recording. It is a stereo soundboard album that was obtained exclusively by our shop and leaked by related parties. This work includes “June 11, 1992: Nakano Sun Plaza performance”. Nakano Sun Plaza’s first visit to Japan was also a three-day consecutive performance. First, let’s imagine the position of this work from the schedule. ・June 9: Nakano Sun Plaza ・June 10: Nakano Sun Plaza ・June 11: Nakano Sun Plaza [This work] ・June 13: Shibuya Public Hall ・June 15: Sendai Sun Plaza ・June 17: Kanagawa Prefectural Hall ・June 19: Nagoya City Public Hall ・June 20: Osaka Festival Hall A total of eight performances. This work is the final day of the Nakano Sun Plaza 3DAYS. The biggest point of this work is the superb sound that only a master leaked from the source can achieve. It is made into a CD directly from the master cassette recorded directly from the mix desk on site, and its freshness and directness are extraordinary. Its directness goes beyond the “closeness” and makes it feel like it is being played in your brain. All the notes of all the instruments are super vivid, but what is especially amazing is Rich Robinson and Mark Ford’s guitar. From the slightest nuances of picking to the sway of choking, it is poured in as if a plug was stuck in your ear. Of course, Chris Robinson’s hot singing voice is also a super clear sound at the breath level. I would like to call it “official class”, but calling it that would be an insult to the sound source. It vividly depicts the wild THE BLACK CROWES, which is impossible to find on a polished official album or radio broadcast. To be honest, the mix as it is on site is rough, but that in turn brings out the band’s muddy aroma. There’s no way THE BLACK CROWES in their prime could be bad with such sound quality. Unfortunately, there was a tape change in the latter half of “Black Moon Creeping”, but the set list was half selected from the golden top two “SHAKE YOUR MONEY MAKER” and “THE SOUTHERN HARMONY AND MUSICAL COMPANION”, so you can enjoy the best parts. Moreover, the spontaneous mood of the flow of deciding each song on the spot makes the bluesy groove even more delicious. In addition, the cover songs that are added on a daily basis are also good. On this day, THE FLYING BURRITO BROTHERS’ “Hot Burrito #2” and THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND’s “Dreams” are played, and the choice and the actual arrangement are terribly THE BLACK CROWES-like. What’s more, what’s surprising is that “Hot Burrito #2” is the world premiere. The level of performance engraved in the soul is familiar as if they had been playing every night for decades, but this is the premiere. It’s earthy, manly, and tough… but sexy. The lightly rolling honky-tonk piano, the dusty guitar, and the scat that sings directly to the heart… all of these are poured into the brain with a sound that is directly connected to the brain. Even in “Dreams,” the 13-minute jam is wonderfully juicy, and you forget the time passing by Rich & Mark’s guitar conversation. In any case, the extraordinary quality of the sound board leaked by the people involved who are the best. And the sound is the best blues / southern rock of the time. This genre is often used for super-big-name Yokozuna live performances, but this work is a little different. The breath of young people who are now famous all over the world. It is a live album where their innocent passion spreads throughout the room through the stereo sound board directly connected to the table. It doesn’t matter whether you are a fan of THE BLACK CROWES or not. If you love hot rock, if you have beats in your blood, this is definitely one that will get you hot. A treasure that should have been left by the official. Live at Nakano Sunplaza, Tokyo, Japan 11th June 1992 STEREO SBD(from Original Masters) Disc 1(46:56) 01. Intro 02. No Speak No Slave 03.
