Description
Billy Joel, who was not discouraged by the Omicron stock, performed at Madison Square Garden this year. The latest stage is released as soon as possible. Since it is the latest live performance and also a live performance at MSG, two types of audience recordings have appeared. So, I initially thought about using “recorder 1” for the release, but “recorder 2”, which appeared a little later, has overwhelmingly better sound quality. There were such circumstances that the latest performance, which would have been released already at the usual timing, was released at this timing. That’s how great the quality of “recorder 2” is. Even though it was an audience recording performed at a large venue like MSG, the sound image is extremely on. In that respect, the sound image of “recorder 1” was far away, and the difference in quality was obvious. The fact that the sound image is so close is enough to make this a quality that I can proudly recommend to everyone, but the chorus that arises in response to the classics played by Billy and his band does not (never!) interfere with the performance, and the realistic listening experience that comes from behind is also exceptional. This is the ideal audience recording. Billy had a warm-up night at the Hard Rock Hotel at the end of January, but this was his first live performance that was open for regular business. Moreover, the joy of being able to stand on stage again in the midst of Omicron is palpable. Not only is it an MC that includes the familiar introduction of the members of his backing band at his live performances, but on this day, after the performance of “Just The Way You Are”, Billy also talks about the episode where the intro was wrong when the sheet music for the song was first published… and he seems to be having fun. It’s natural to include “A Hard Day’s Night” as usual, or to have him sing ZEP’s “Whole Lotta Love”. Since it was two days before Valentine’s Day, they had plenty of time to play the standard “My Funny Valentine” in front of “Piano Man” with a jazzy instrumental. What’s more, the set list for this day will bring tears to the eyes of fans. Although the basic line is the same as usual, it was surprising that they brought out the nostalgic “Modern Woman” in the middle of the live. For fans of Eighties Billy, this repertoire must be a tear-jerker. And the best part is the opening number “She’s Got A Way” from the first album “COLD SPRING HARBOR”. Since “Everybody Loves You Now” appears more frequently from the same album, it’s even more moving to hear it here. Even songs that are relatively minor like this become a chorus, as you would expect from Billy’s show at MSG. It must have been a lot of fun if you were there. The latest MSG live performance will be delivered with such exquisite realism and powerful sound. This is a high-quality audience album that can be enjoyed by beginners and fans alike!
