Description
The performance of the quartet with Philippe Katelin on guitar at a jazz festival held in Austria on September 2, 1981 has been digitally remastered to the SBD master for on-air use and polished with noise reduction. Recorded for 66 minutes in official quality. The jam begins with Wolfgang Downer’s piano solo at the end, with songs mainly composed of these two, such as “FATHER CHRISTMAS”, which will be included in Philip’s later album “TRANSPARENCE”, and Cobham’s “INDIGO”. is amazing. Cobham’s stormy drums, the driving bass, the mysteriously sparkling piano, and the distorted guitar that runs through it all makes this a recommended album for ECM fans. [JAZZFEST SAALFELDEN, September 2nd 1981] 1. EVERY DAY (P.Catherine) / 2. LE LIS (B.Cobham) / 3. FATHER XMAS (P.Catherine) / 4. INDIGO (B.Cobham) / 5. Piano Solo – Jam (W.Dauner) / 6. untitled Personal : Billy Cobham (ds) / Philip Catherine (el-g) / Wolfgang Dauner (key) / Wolfgang Schmid (el-b)
