Description

A collection of sound sources from the 1964 world tour. The TV appearance in the Netherlands that opens the first album was a lip-synching setup typical of the 60s, but for some reason the microphone was turned on, making for an unusual recording in which live singing was mixed in throughout. Therefore, it was a rare TV appearance that was surprisingly enjoyable even if you listened to the audio alone. The next recording was the sound source from the twice-a-day performance in the Netherlands, and the first show was an audience recording, which was very rare at that time. It’s hard to hear each person’s vocals, and it’s as if the audience is singing in chorus with the Beatles playing in the background, but I think that’s also a valuable recording. Although the second show is short, it is a sound board recording and the sound quality is good, but you can still hear the chorus from the back, giving you a glimpse of how exciting the venue was on the day. And the second half of the first disc is the Adelaide performance, which is famous as the only complete soundboard recording during the period when Jimmy Nicol served as Ringo’s substitute. When it was first discovered, it was valuable and the sound quality was quite good, but the tape was distorted, which caused stress when listening. Of course, the best version recorded here has no such problems and can be listened to with confidence. The second one is the best version and soundboard recording of each of the two stages in Melbourne, which has been familiar for a long time. The sound quality of the second show, which is famous for its visuals, is also very good, and the audio alone is enough to listen to. It is a high-quality sound source that ranks among the top three live performances in 1964 before the Hollywood Bowl. The fragmented Sydney performance sandwiched between these two Melbourne sound sources is actually an audience recording of a blurry sound image, recorded with a sound-collecting microphone by a news film shooting company, but this is appreciated. Rather, it is extremely easy to listen to and understand that the two discs have been neatly divided into the Jimmy Nicole participation schedule and Ringo’s return. In addition, sound board recording is also the main thing. Is this tour still satisfying with this title? Such a masterpiece.
