Description
Lord Leith, a leading figure in the Beatles sound source world, has released an air check tape of the Beatles’ BBC studio live performances from 1962 to 1964 for this Christmas. This precious sound source was recorded by a woman named Carolyn Ellis who lives in Liverpool, and a girl who has been following the band since their debut recorded it on a radio speaker with a microphone. Therefore, the sound quality is literally vintage quality, not as good as the current official “LIVE AT THE BBC” or the BBC bootleg masterpiece “AT THE BEEB”, but the sound quality of the air check at that time. However, this is the original that was released on bootleg before the appearance of those items, and if you are a enthusiast, you will be able to relax your cheeks at the old-fashionedness that makes you feel nostalgic. In fact, her tapes were eventually released on LPs such as the color jacket “BEAUTIFUL DREAMER” and the picture disc “DIRECTLY FROM SANTA CLAUS RARE UNRELEASED BEATLES TRACKS”. And yet, while some of the recordings are the same as those on the huge best-selling “BBC BROADCASTS 1962-1964: JOE POPE REELS” (for example, “Keep Your Hands Off My Baby” and “Roll Over Beethoven”), “I’m Talking About You” is clearly a different recording, with sounds like the microphone is hitting the speaker. On the other hand, unlike the recording on “BBC BROADCASTS 1962-1964: JOE POPE REELS” which is missing the intro and has a lot of noise, this version of “Honey Don’t” sung by John is well recorded from the intro and has little noise. It is really interesting that, although the recordings are causally related in this way, they clearly contain different recordings. And at the beginning, there is even a rare audio recording of a 1962 non-BBC TV appearance “A Taste Of Honey” that was not available in the 1980s, which is very interesting. Although it was an archaeological excavation by Lord Leith, the pitch was very out of whack because it was an old tape. So, when making it into a gift, we thoroughly adjusted each song, and reborn it so that it can be listened to in a much more stable state. This is a vintage Beatles BBC sound source… there is no doubt that you will feel nostalgic when listening to it! VINTAGE BBC TAPES 1962-1964 (59:30) 1.
