Description

Soon after the start of 2022, an early live recording of the shocking performance has appeared, surprising Beatle enthusiasts around the world. It was on April 5, 1963, at an event held within EMI to commemorate the huge success of the single “Please Please Me”. Many photos of this event were left behind, as it was a large-scale event that invited not only EMI but also the media, and the event itself was well known. However, it was surprising that a recording of the performance on that day has now appeared. This was broadcast on American radio in January, and although it is mono, it is a proper soundboard recording. It was recorded by Radio Luxembourg for the purpose of reporting on the event, but it is surprising that a recording of the irregular 1963 stage has been preserved. Since it is not a regular concert, only two songs are performed, but it is still worth listening to. The first performance was their latest single “From Me To You”, which was about to be released. The performance was very careful, and since they had finished recording a public recording version for BBC Radio a few days ago, the atmosphere heard here was very fresh, as if the BBC take had been made even more careful. Next was the big hit “Please Please Me”. This song has already been performed on various occasions, and it was full of energy, a stark change from the careful performance of the previous song. Paul’s hustle stood out in particular, as he started counting playfully “1, 2, 9” and even between songs he was really stirring up the crowd, conveying how proud he was that their song had become a big hit for the first time in front of the EMI employees. And what stood out most of all was that it was not a live performance in front of the screams of the audience that escalated more and more after this, but a stage with a bright seat, which made the performance careful and calm. The completely different environment from a normal stage probably spurred on the careful performance. Therefore, even though it was only two songs, it was well worth listening to, and I was surprised that such a valuable event was discovered in 2022. However, since it is a vintage soundboard from 1963, the balance of the performance is such that the vocals and George’s lead guitar stand out, and the sound quality is muffled. Therefore, we first recorded a remastered version that was released in the United States last month, as well as the original state. The soundboard that captured the precious record hit commemorative event was made even easier to hear, making it a rich content. If the rooftop is a mature Beatles live performance, try this ultra-precious soundboard that literally captures the moment they grabbed success!
