Beatles Magical Mystery Tour Movie Special Collection

The Beatles’ first self-produced film “Magical Mystery Tour” is now available as a collector’s edition, featuring the original British TV broadcast version, various video versions, documentaries, and even soundtrack changes over the years. “Magical Mystery Tour” was the first TV broadcast film that The Beatles wrote and filmed themselves in 1967. It was broadcast on the BBC in the UK at Christmas time in late 1967, when the band released the historic masterpiece “Sgt. Pepper’s” and evolved into a new phase. Although it was met with mixed reviews at the time of its release, it is now considered a pioneering film. It was later released in theaters in the US and Japan, and was first released on video in the 1980s, and has recently been released on Blu-ray. The latest 2022 edition is newly released as “THE MOVIE SPECIAL COLLECTION = SGT. SPECIAL COLLECTOR’S EDITION 2022 =”, which includes the original footage broadcast on TV in the UK at the time, previously released versions that are now difficult to obtain, documentaries, and past soundtracks! CD1 contains the complete soundtrack based on the 2012 remastered sound source, including the instrumentals used in the main story and unused sound sources. CD2 contains various remix sound sources, including “I Am the Walrus”, which has the most different versions, from the original mono mix in 1967, which shows the transition of the soundtrack mixes over the years. DVD1 includes the “APPLE VIDEO EDITION” (with Japanese subtitles), which was the first official video released in 1988 since the TV broadcast, and which uses a video remix sound source by George Martin along with the video restoration, and the original version broadcast on BBC TV in 1967 (unremastered video before video and original mono sound source). The TV broadcast version here was rebroadcast in the UK in 1979, and is now the first appearance of the precious original video before restoration! DVD2 includes the “FIRST DVD EDITION”, which was replaced from the video remix sound source to the original stereo sound source when the American version was made into a DVD in 1997. It is now a valuable version that is different from the former Japanese version DVD and the one currently in circulation. In addition, a BBC documentary including valuable outtake scenes and interviews that were broadcast on TV in Japan in 2012 is also included with Japanese subtitles!
