This year, the official release of Let It Be deluxe edition finally came out. Using the latest technology, a new Let It Be was made from multi-track, and a six-hour blockbuster movie will be distributed this fall, creating a festive atmosphere. In this day and age, this work thoroughly looks back on Let It Be with the analog sound source that we are accustomed to listening to. This is the complete version of the valuable analog source sound source, which adds the “secret Italian cutting master reel (so-called master tape)” sound source to the analog sound source collection of Let It Be, which was released two years ago and became a hot topic. Now, let me introduce the four sources. (Source 1) Italian cutting master reel Direct transfer from a reel tape that was copied at full size from the master tape sent to Italy in 1970 for cutting LP records. Provided and digitized by Mr. E, a leading “reel collector” in the UK. According to Mr. E, this cutting master was available in the 1980s, when the management of this type of reel tape was still lax, and when I played it for the first time in several years this year, it was in good condition and there was almost no magnetic transfer. For this reason, no noise reduction was applied to the digitized version, including between songs (there was some unavoidable noise due to the aging of the tape when loading, but this part was partially corrected). Because there is no compression applied when recording, the overall impression is quite different from previous sound sources. For example, the sparkling elasticity of the acoustic guitar and the crispness of the snare from Two Of Us are completely different from the previous take, so you will be blown away. The outdoor live feel of Dig A Pony is also very pleasant, and in the intro of Let It Be, Ringo makes a little noise with his stick, which can be clearly heard unedited. I’ve Got A Feeling is wonderful, with the freshness of the sound and the density of the midrange sound sounding twice as different as the 2009 Remaster sound source. And the special feature is The Long And Winding Road. The orchestral section added by Phil Spector does not cover the Beatles’ naked play or Paul’s vocals, but coexists with them. Even in the 1987 and 2009 CD versions, and even in this Giles mix, the orchestral section has been cut, but the sense of coexistence and unity has not been reproduced to this extent. And in the final Get Back, you will be amazed by the powerful sound of the five people, including Billy Preston, putting their soul into the performance. This is the biggest historical heritage sound source this year that cannot be buried forever! (Source 2) UK Cassette Tape First Edition The super valuable cassette tape of the UK first edition that surprised many people at Abbey Road is reprinted this time. The cassette source alone is enough to withstand release. I am surprised that the cassette is a different mix in the first place (it’s a shame that cassette sound sources have not yet been researched). The reverberation of George’s guitar, Paul’s resonant piano, Ringo’s light drumming, and John’s vocals that make you feel his breath are vividly reproduced. Until now, it was unknown how the cassette was commercialized, but according to Andrew of the YouTube channel “Parlogram Auctions” released last month, this first edition cassette was “dubbed from the studio 1-inch master using 32 cassette decks at a time in units of 32”. I see, that’s the reason why the sound quality is so special. (Source 3) LP matrix 2U/2U for UK first edition box set The UK first edition BOX version of Let It Be 2U/2U is so different that it’s called something completely different. It is said that the sharp drum sound, the clear live sound of each instrument, and the thick bass sound can only be experienced on this disc. We have made a CD from a disc in good condition. It has been confirmed once again that this is an analog sound source that is in a different league from the official sound source currently on sale! ! (Source 4) UK export white Let It Be, a 1978 export white record that has never been discussed in terms of sound quality. This UK-made export series is basically handwritten and has a loud and wonderful sound quality. You can see that it was cut with a clearly different approach from the American and Japanese versions. There is only one weakness, which is the quality of the color vinyl, and there are several places where there is a crackling noise, but even if you take that into account, it is a high-quality sound source that is not inferior to 2U/2U.
