Description

This is a project to dig up vintage early analog records that have been buried and spotlight them. This time, it will be released as part of KUM BACK. I used the Beatles’ earliest real stereo LP KUM BACK (Blue Stamp Cover LP, Non Label, Matrix 775 SIDE 1/2), and KUM BACK (with the same title but different content) (with some exceptions). The two titles (stereo, illustration cover, MAK 327/328) were coupled directly from the original LPs in the label’s possession rather than online, and were recorded on two CDs with two types of mastering. Unlike the other KUM BACK titles that were released at the time and their copy discs, these are extremely rare phantom early discs recorded in real stereo. The main item this time is the Blue Stamp cover LP Matrix 775 edition (hereinafter referred to as 775 edition). This 775 edition is said to be the Beatles’ earliest analog boot LP, along with GET BACK TO TORONTO, and was originally This is an extremely rare edition, probably because there were not many presses, and it seems that it was hardly ever available in Japan at the time. In the famous book “Dictionary” published in 1985, there are many references to the title KUM BACK, but not only is this 775 edition not listed, but “KUM BACK released in the 1970s has real stereo・The fact that it is written as “No version exists” suggests that it was a time when it was not easy to collect information, unlike today, and how difficult and rare the main disc was to obtain. Masu. This 775 disc is a non-label and a blank label with a pure white label surface, so we will call it that here because of the matrix stamp on the stamper, but technically the matrix is 775 stamped on both sides. Two types have been confirmed: one with engraved only on the A side. It was probably pressed multiple times (in small numbers?) at the time, and I assume that the stamp 775 was added to the B side to make it easier to identify when it was pressed for the second and subsequent times. This is because the stamp “SIDE 2” originally on the B side is handwritten in the same handwriting, so it seems that 775 was added to the original stamper. In addition, I would like to mention here that there is actually a stamp on the inner groove in very small letters as information that cannot be found only on the internet. By the way, throughout the 1970s, too many versions were released, including the red-stamped KUM BACK with the same title, which had inferior sound and stereo separation, and copies and non-slick editions. As a result, the existence of the original version seems to have been obscured and buried. Therefore, when talking about KUM BACK, I think it was widely recognized at the time when it was recorded in monaural and the sound quality was degraded. Later, in the CD era, you can listen to the radio broadcast version from overseas labels such as Vigotone and YD, and in recent years, you can listen to the CD version Untouched with a much fresher sound, and it has become a hot topic among fans. I did. However, the sound that is said to be KUM BACK that can currently be heard on some sample sound sources on the Internet is, as expected, monaural, not real stereo sound like the 775, and is still being distributed with misunderstood recognition information. The reality is that sometimes there are. This time, we are planning to record KUM BACK’s earliest LP and dig into it again. Of course, since it is an analog sound, there will be some scratches, but the warm, rounded natural sound with analog ticks, unrelated to modern digital processing, is still exceptional. The MAK edition included in the second half of the CD is based on the main Blue Stamp edition KUM BACK 775 edition, with the performance mistakes and conversation parts cut out as much as possible, and the mono sound source of two songs that were not included in the Blue Stamp 775 edition (including It is possible that One After 909 was made into a Get Back album by adding some cuts during the song, but the truth is unknown, and there is almost no sound deterioration compared to the 775 edition. Therefore, it may be an LP that was unexpectedly edited from the tape (copied from the acetate). Also, there are several other versions of this MAK edition that use the same stamper, and in addition to the yellow label used this time on the MAK label, there is also a red label version, as well as a sticker with KUM BACK printed on the fluorescent material on the front. There is also another KUM BACK (No Label, blank label with a label diameter of 75mm, which is quite small) attached to the jacket. In addition, both versions of KUM BACK this time have different stereo left and right sides from other GET BACK album-related discs, so I thought about reversing them when making the CD, but I understand that this is a project that emphasizes the value of the material. Out of respect, we have recorded it in the original position of the original LP. Disc 1: Matrix 775 and MAK discs are recorded straight after adjusting the pitch. No noise reduction or equalization processing is performed. Disc2…Noise reduction remastered version of the contents of Disc1. Noise reduction has been applied, and some EQ processing has been applied to further strengthen the bass. Additionally, the localization was adjusted for some songs. Vintage Vinyl Record Collection Series Disc 1(78:14): Non-Equalizing, Pitch Correction Disc 2(78:14): Noise Reduction, Equalizing & Pitch Correction Disc 1, 2 (Track notation is the same for Discs 1 and 2.)
