This is the ultimate original analog master recording, imprinted on vinyl! Four analog sources, including the original UK mono first pressing loud cut, the original UK stereo first pressing, the US Mobil MFSL stereo, and the UK HTM mastered stereo, are fully reproduced in high-resolution HQ for the highest quality sound! This is the ultimate original analog master recording, imprinted on vinyl! “Help!” is fully reproduced in four different sources from around the world! In the 1960s, The Beatles records were produced in various countries around the world and released in various formats that differed from the original UK releases, from the unique mastering and cutting to the jacket designs. Even in the analog era before the digitalization of CDs, there were numerous variations in re-releases around the world. With information sharing and verification ongoing among collectors worldwide, this “Premium Vinyl Collection” is a culmination of the finest recordings of album versions, recorded in pristine stereo and mono audio via direct transfer from the master vinyl records. The premium collection includes a CD featuring the ultimate analog sound source and an audio DVD featuring four audio sources, including high-quality high-resolution audio. This collection, “Help!”, is The Beatles’ fifth official UK album, released in the UK on August 6, 1965, and also the soundtrack to “Help!”, their second film, following “A Hard Day’s Night” in 1964. It includes the hit singles “Help!”, “Ticket to Ride,” the Bob Dylan-influenced “Blow Away,” and the classic “Yesterday,” featuring string quartet. Incidentally, in the US, the album was released as a film soundtrack, with a different tracklist consisting of the UK A-side and instrumental tracks. When first released on CD in 1987, George Martin remixed the original mix. This CD features the original mono UK pressing in the first half. While the audio quality of this album is often criticized for being a low-quality first pressing, some say that this first mono pressing is a “loud cut” like “Rubber Soul” or “With the Beatles.” While the opening “Help!” may sound a bit off, expecting the crisp sound of the original mono, this is said to be due to the original mix. From there, the sound quality of the first vinyl pressing truly shines. The opening track “Act Naturally” at the beginning of side B particularly delivers the crisp sound of the original mono source, while “Yesterday” also captures the distinctive texture of analog, resulting in the exquisite sound of the original first pressing, only possible with a direct copy from vinyl. The second half of the CD features the HTM 1985 stereo mastering of the 1985 UK Silver Parlophone reissue. This recording, by renowned Abbey Road Studios engineer Harry Moss Cutting, offers a distinctly clearer sound than the original UK stereo mix, with brighter mid- and high-frequency ranges for enhanced vocal and chorus clarity and enhanced instrument separation. This remarkable 1980s stereo remaster, unlike the current digitally remastered versions, offers a unique sound quality only possible on vinyl. The DVD, “Hi-Res & HQ Audio Selection,” includes four audio sources, including a high-quality Hi-Res audio source, allowing you to compare the different sound sources. Audio 1 features the original UK mono recording. Enjoy the vinyl sound in a high-resolution format (96 kHz/24-bit) that offers even higher specs than CD, faithfully reproducing the texture of the vinyl. Audio 2 features the original UK stereo recording. This set features the authentic stereo sound source unique to vinyl, distinct from CD. Audio 3 features the stereo sound source from the Mobile Fidelity (MFSL) vinyl release in the US in 1982. Compared to standard vinyl releases from various countries, this stereo mix is a classic recording from the popular Mobile Fidelity vinyl release, renowned for its clarity and balance, making it a top-tier analog master and a highly sought-after, limited-edition vinyl pressing of the original British master. Audio 4 features the 1985 UK HTM 1985 stereo remastered sound source, also exceeding CD specifications in HQ (High Quality 48 kHz) quality. The DVD features a slideshow of each record jacket and label photo, allowing you to select each sound source via audio selection. This special edition of “Help!” brings together four of the most precious vinyl recordings, now considered extremely valuable and highly prized.
