Description

It includes the audience recording of the Essen performance on June 25th from the German tour that the Beatles conducted just before their 1966 performance in Japan. This recording was known among enthusiasts as a sound source that was ridiculed as “buried in cheers” or “a fan’s picture” even in specialized magazines, but recently a remastered version of this sound source has appeared. It is recorded. In fact, this recording was an off-duty sound image where the performance was far away, and I had the impression that I could literally hear the Beatles’ performance from beyond the cheers. In up-tempo songs, there are some parts where the performance is drowned out by handclaps. It’s a remastered version of that, but that doesn’t mean that the off-sound image suddenly changes to on, and you can hear the painstaking efforts to somehow add sharpness to the sound. However, as expected, you can hear the contours of the performance in songs such as the ballad “Yesterday” and the slow performance “Baby’s In Black.” To be honest, the sound quality isn’t great, but it’s still valuable as a 1966 live recording, and listening to this one makes you realize just how superior the Candlestick Park recording released this week is. You will definitely feel it. Rather, in the interviews and press conferences recorded after the live recordings during his stay in Essen, he asked questions such as “Do you like classical music?” and “Are you heading to Tokyo tomorrow?” It is valuable that you can see the typical German atmosphere and the fact that they were just about to perform in Japan. And interviews with undercard artists such as Peter and Gordon are also valuable. The main performance in Essen is the perfect sound source to give as a gift, so please try this vintage recording that has been said to be a “fan’s stepping stone”.
