“File Under”, familiar to Beatles collectors of the past as a memorable bootleg from the analog era, was a historic title that shocked Beatles collectors around the world in the 1980s by recording unreleased sound sources that had not been heard until then, ahead of the CD era’s “Ultra Rare Tracks” and later “Anthology”. Although some of the sound sources are now included in “Anthology” and other publications, the same takes have different mixes and the editing itself is unique, so strictly speaking, there are some things that cannot be overlooked as unique to “File Under”. This release is an expanded edition of the original master recording of “File Under” and the subsequently released “File Under VOL. 2” across two CDs, with newly added songs, and an extra edition that includes many songs not included in the main version and different mixes, reprinted in the latest digital remaster upgrade version in 2017. All the recordings from the 80s used this time have been changed to the original masters, and all the songs have been recorded with a significantly upgraded quality, so the difference is clear when compared to past analog records as well as CDs of the same content that have been released since then, making this the definitive version based on the master sound source.
