Description
Coupling of the afternoon show on June 30th and July 1st. June 30th includes the soundtrack of the video. The highest quality ever. July 1st is a remastered recording from the vintage analog LP “BUDOKAN 1966” (SAVAGE RECORDS). This is also the highest quality ever. The recording side has also been filled in. Regarding the performance in Japan, it was announced that “there are almost no items with careful mastering in the past,” and here it has been made into a CD with the minimum necessary mastering. There is no need to tweak anything at all for June 30th, and here it has been made into a CD with only volume adjustments and no equalization to change the tone. In past items, there were surprisingly few items that could be heard with a straightforward sound, such as excessive hiss reduction processing, increased sound pressure with increased distortion, unnatural reverb processing, distorted pseudo-stereo items, and gap noise. Here, care has been taken to avoid problems such as level over when adjusting the volume. Comparing the HMC CD, which has been much talked about in recent years, the intro of track 1 has been edited slightly shorter, and cross-fading has been done around 0:03 on the CD time. Also, the cheering part after the show is recorded “longer” by repeating the same cheering part three times in the editing for the convenience of the end credits of the video. Also, compared to HMC, the sound itself has more limiters than you would expect (it is analogue and the color is different from the limiters on computer software these days). The July 1st afternoon show was recorded from a vintage analog LP. Many 7.1 performances have been released in the past, but the best ones that have already been released are probably this analog record and the QUATER APPLE label’s “WELCOME THE BEATLES” (CD) released in 1997 (※QA also has a 1996 version, but that’s different). I don’t think there were any articles introducing QA label items at all in the specialist magazines that were widely used as collector’s record magazines at the time (not sure). Also, unlike today, the Internet was in its infancy at the time, and evaluations were largely influenced by magazine information, so some people may not know about this 1997 QA record, which became a spot-on existence. There may be other good records lying dormant, but the master material for this project is the LP record from SAVAGE RECORDS, and the QA record is a CD that has excellent sound quality among past records. When this analog record was made into a CD, the scratch noise was pinpointed and removed one by one, so you can enjoy it almost noiselessly. In addition, there are two missing parts between songs on this analog record, which were filled in with the aforementioned QA record. The places are between the songs If I Needed Someone and Day Tripper, and a few seconds between I Feel Fine and Yesterday, which are the change of sides of the record. The sound quality of this analog record and the QA record used for filling is surprisingly similar, and the connection between the filled parts is completely indistinguishable. Also, when comparing the overall sound quality with the much-talked-about HMC version, it is by no means inferior; rather, it is strange because the HMC version seems too high-pitched and lacking in low frequencies, and some people may find the analog-like sound of this item, with its thick bass, more pleasing to the ear.
