Description

“January 26, 1974 Rainbow Theater Performance” is famous as a classic among classics. This famous recording is now available on a master quality CD. This “January 26th” was the final stage of BB&A, two performances were held in one day, and it is said that it was officially recorded for the live album. It is no exaggeration to say that they have continued to produce countless titles since ancient times, and with their wonderful sound and performances, they are a symbol of the legendary super group “BB&A”. This work is a live album that contains the first show with master quality that our store independently obtained. It is a live performance that I have already listened to hundreds or thousands of times, but the master brought this time is at a level that I have never heard before. Of course, it is not a copy or remaster of a previously released product. On the contrary, the master that was brought in was so perfect that its generation and state of preservation were perfect. For that reason, I didn’t do any equalization or pitch adjustment (there was no way I could do it). Although there is a scent of the 70’s in the natural sound and nuance, it is so fresh that it is hard to believe that more than 40 years have passed. The quality does not fall at all for 79 and a half minutes, covering the entire live performance. The final performance that unfolds with that sound is wonderful all the way. The strongest trio ensemble in rock history stands out with a clear outline, and the vibe wrapped in that outline is endlessly lustrous. The rhythm section of Carmine Appice, who is not just powerful and not just percussive, and Tim Bogart, whose lines are full of singing, are intertwined with each other in detail, down to the nuances of each note. And Jeff Beck’s whimsical guitar runs and stirs mischievously in between. A powerful super ensemble that is unique in Jeff’s history is highlighted more vividly than ever. Although the three of them can make any song into the best rock song, the set list of this work is even more special. This day also serves as a preview show for the phantom second album, and even the new songs “Satisfied”, “Laughin’ Lady”, “Jizz Whizz” and “Prayin’” will pop out. The concentration of the performance, the enthusiasm of geniuses competing on equal terms, and the special set list… it was such a great performance that I feel reluctant to talk about its splendor in detail now. I never thought I would be able to hear it with such a great sound… Starting with YARDBIRDS, BB&A has continued to evolve even today, with their powerful and straightforward rock style. This is a piece where you can listen in master quality to the moment when the potential of this rare super trio was pushed to the brink of collapse. Because this is a recording that can be said to have the same value and significance as an official studio album or “LIVE IN JAPAN,” we want to push the best sound to the limit. Please be sure to include such a superb live album in your collection. Live at Rainbow Theatre, London, UK 26th January 1974 (1st Show) TRULY PERFECT SOUND(UPGRADE) (79:28) 1. Satisfied 2.
