The Bangles, a leading American girl band that had numerous hits in the 80s and reunited several times after their initial breakup, have now released a stereo soundboard recording of their first reunion secret gig in 2000, leaked by someone involved in the production. This secret gig, announced as “LIQUID CIRCUS” at a club in LA on September 1st of that year, was a precious live performance recorded by the venue staff directly connected to the PA system, and the tape has recently been released to the public. Some parts that were missing have been supplemented with other good audience recordings to create a complete version. From the familiar opening of S&B’s “A Winter’s Walk On,” to hit songs like “Manic Monday” and “Walk Like an Egyptian,” and even rare numbers like the garage punk tune “7 & 7 Is” by Love as the finale, this is a live performance that truly recreates their heyday in the 80s.
