Description

The February 20, 2009 performance at Asbury Park, New Jersey was recorded by a staff member from the precious live recordings of the project, which brought together former BLUE OYSTER CULT members and bassist Dennis Dunaway, who supported early ALICE COOPER. Introducing an amazing super high quality stereo sound board sound source! ! ! (World first appearance) Joe Bouchard, who served as the bassist for BLUE OYSTER CULT for 16 years, has been in contact with Dennis since the ’80s, and it has been confirmed that they performed a joint live in ’84. The two started a full-fledged band activity around April 2001 as B.D.S. (Bouchard, Dunaway, Smith), with former ALICE COOPER Neil Smith on drums, with Joe playing guitar and vocals, and Dennis playing the band. They released a studio album “BACK FROM HELL” with a power trio in charge of bass and chorus, and in 2003 they also released an official live album “LIVE IN PARIS” which included live performances in Paris. In 2008, Joe’s older brother, Albert Bouchard, formerly of BLUE OYSTER CULT, replaced Neil Smith as the drummer, and the band began performing shows under the name “BLUE COUPE.” The New Jersey show recorded in this sound source was a special gig performed by a four-piece group with Richie Scarlett, who has a career in MOUNTAIN and ACE FREHLEY, on guitar, and the band appeared on stage under the name “BLUE SCARLET COOP”. It’s literally a special live only for this day! There is only a sound board sound source for those involved, so you can enjoy the powerful sound image of the band’s performance up close with outstanding clarity without being bothered by audience noise. (If we compare it to B.O.C.’s live recordings, the sound image is close to “Wichita 1986” that appeared the other day, but the sound quality is far superior.) The opening “She’s Got Everything” fades in midway through the performance. Although it begins, everything from this to “My Way Or The Highway” that concludes the set is recorded, so you can enjoy the valuable live to your heart’s content from both the material and entertainment perspectives. It seems that Joe and Dennis also played new songs as B.D.S. at other shows, but on this day they performed a live performance of all cover songs, focusing on well-known B.O.S. and ALICE COOPER classics. I’m showing it off. In particular, DAVID BOWIE’s “Moonage Daydream”, which is featured in the middle of the live show, is a song that Richie covered in his 2002 solo album “INSANITY OF LIFE”, and you can feel the special care given to Richie who participated. The songs of B.O.C., who created a worldview rooted in horror and mystery as the original heavy metal band, and ALICE COOPER, who also laid the foundations of shock rock in the 1970s, have a strange affinity with each other. The scene where “Cities On Flame With Rock’N’Roll” and “I’m Eighteen” are played in quick succession is also well-suited to the heavy songs and performances. In the middle of the live performance, “Godzilla” will be played in a longer arrangement that includes Dennis’ bass solo and Albert Bouchard’s drum solo. As Albert has not only performed with B.O.C., but has also been involved in many compositions, his playing and solos here are full of the persuasive power of originals. The following “Black Juju” is based on Dennis’ repertoire in ALICE COOPER, and like the B.O.C. number of the Bouchard brothers, it skillfully reproduces the strange and gloomy atmosphere of the original song. The highlight of the live performance is a series of “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” and “School’s Out”, a must-listen for rock fans. The vocal tone of “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper” is very different from the original Donald Loser, so it feels a bit of a mismatch, but “School’s Out” perfectly fits that wildness. The audience’s reaction was so enthusiastic that you could hear loud cheers through the microphone, and you could see that the famous songs being performed were exciting the whole venue. In the 1970s, both Dennis and the Bouchard brothers attracted a lot of attention with their respective bands, but since they left the band, especially lately, their movements have not been heard very much, so the reason why they are performing lively like this is… I’m sure the fans will be very happy as well. Being able to enjoy the live performance of a project like this, which is difficult to even listen to on official sound sources, is a strength unique to unofficial releases like this one, but being able to listen to it at such a high quality level is something that would be unimaginable. . If you are a fan of B.O.C. and ALICE COOPER, this is the ultimate rare sound source that will definitely surprise you three times: first by the members, then by the set list, and then by the sound quality!
