Description

ATOMIC ROOSTER is a famous band that established “keyboard rock” with EL&P, EGG, QUATERMASS, etc. It is a super-superb professional shot release that allows you to witness their golden age in official quality. There are five professional shots recorded in this work. All of them are from the trio era and the “IN HEARING OF ATOMIC ROOSTER” era when Chris Farlowe was just welcomed. It is a masterpiece that you can enjoy for about 95 minutes. Now, let’s introduce each video. [BEAT CLUB (2 types) from the 2nd album era] ● August 4, 1970 (3 songs) ● February 22, 1971 (2 songs) First of all, it is a professional shot when appearing on the West German specialty program “BEAT CLUB”. A total of 7 songs and 10 takes are recorded from 4 times. The opening is decorated with three songs from “August 4, 1970”, just before the release of “DEATH WALKS BEHIND YOU”. At this time, Carl Palmer had already formed EL&P and was working on his debut album. ATOMIC ROOSTER also welcomed Paul Hammond to produce “DEATH WALKS BEHIND YOU”… This is a record of the summer. In addition to the debut album “Save Me (Friday the 13th)”, they performed “Sleeping For Years” and “VUG” from their second album. The next performance was on February 22, 1971. The third album “IN HEARING OF ATOMIC ROOSTER” was produced in the summer of 1971, and here they were still in a trio formation. They performed two songs, “Tomorrow Night” and “I Can’t Take Any More”. The fierce live performance of the band potential of the great masterpiece “DEATH WALKS BEHIND YOU” explodes with a full-color multi-camera. Both are superb professional shots with excellent quality in both video and audio. The transcendent quality is completely official, more than just a broadcast recording… or should I say, it’s a video that was once released officially (half?). This is the highest version. [BEAT CLUB from the 3rd album era (2 types)] ● February 17, 1972 (1 song, 2 takes) ● February 23, 1972 (1 song, 3 takes) From here, it’s the “IN HEARING OF ATOMIC ROOSTER” era, when the band was a four-person group. That said, the vocals are not Pete French, who participated in the album, but Chris Farlow (formerly of COLOSSEUM), who had just joined. “Breakthrough” was broadcast on BEAT CLUB, but this work includes not only the main take, but also temporary takes of “Breakthrough” and “Black Snake”, for a total of five professional shots. The broadcast version of “Breakthrough”, which is very 70’s, is cool, but what’s even more interesting is the temporary take. The clapperboard and the blue screen for video processing are vivid, and you can see Vincent Crane’s nervous state waiting for the GO sign. In addition, some takes are not multi-camera but one-camera with only Crane angle. You can see plenty of super close-ups of his hands as he vividly improvises with just his right hand while keeping the bass part with his left hand. Of course, the final take of “Breakthrough” with full psychedelic video processing is also the best. [BELGIAN TV appearance pro shot (5 songs)] The last is a multi-camera pro shot of the Belgian public broadcasting station “RTBF”. Although the screen is a little reddish, this was probably the direction at the time. The image quality and sound quality are super-excellent, comparable to BEAT CLUB, and this video was actually released as “MASTERS FROM THE VAULTS”. The best part of this video is the live feeling of playing five songs through. Although it is a live broadcasting studio without an audience, instead of creating a PV for each song like BEAT CLUB, the mood of playing one after another in a natural manner is like a stage. In addition to “Breakthrough” and “Black Snake” that were also performed at BEAT CLUB, they also performed 3rd numbers such as “A Spoonful Of Bromide Helps The Pulse Rate Go Down” and “The Rock”, just like the Farlow version of “IN HEARING OF ATOMIC ROOSTER”. In addition, they are already showing “Can’t Find A Reason” from “NICE ‘N’ GREASY”. Vincent Crane established hard “keyboard rock” with a methodology different from EL&P. This is a completely official super beautiful multi-camera pro shot of the golden age of ATOMIC ROOSTER, which he led. It is truly a cultural heritage of British rock.
