Description

The famous sound source “Dragon Attack 1990”, which was released as the first original progressive label in early 2000 and its excellent high sound quality caused a big stir among enthusiasts, and later led to the release of an official bootleg (now out of print) from the same source, is now re-released using the master tape. The hiss noise that seems to have been caused by the flashy equalization of the original version to gain sound pressure has been clearly reduced, and the sound quality is more natural and mild. Since there is no unpleasantness in the high range, you can enjoy a natural and rich spatial sound, and it can be said that this is a famous sound source that most ideally embodies the high tone that is most suitable for Asia’s music. The high pitch is accurately corrected, and overall, the main board is recorded for 94 minutes, which is more than 2 minutes longer than the previously released 92 minutes. The opening SE is recorded for about 2 seconds longer than the previous one, and the cheers at the end of the concert are also recorded for 15 seconds longer than the previous one (so you can hear the “Aria on the G String” that was played after the end of the performance). The cheers after the end of Book Of Saturday at the end of Disc 1 are also recorded for more than 20 seconds longer, but this is because the original version and the disc are different. The original version of The Smile Has Left Your Eyes on Disc 2 starts with about 15 seconds of cheers, but this version starts in about 5 seconds. Wildest Dreams, which knocked out many listeners even in the first edition, is recorded with amazing high sound quality and will greatly fascinate the listener from the beginning. Following Wetton’s “Thank you, Konbanwa!” shout, Sole Survivor, which contains all the musical tones recorded in the best balance, is an excellent masterpiece, and you will be greatly fascinated by the exceptional charm of this recording. The sense of separation is also excellent, and the way each of the sounds released by the four players organically intermingles can only be described as a masterpiece. As you listen to Don’t Cry and Voice Of America, the performance is so overwhelming that it sounds too good, and you can enjoy the performance that makes you wonder “why is it so good?” with an exquisite sound. You can experience the excitement of the early representative songs Time Again and Only Time Will Tell, as well as new songs such as Prayin’ 4 A Miracle and Days Like These from “Then & Now”. Classic covers such as Rendez-vous 6:02 and Book Of Saturday, which became standard on Wetton’s later solo tours, were fresh and gave the audience a great impression at the time. The connection at 2:57 of The Heat Goes On, which is a tape change, is also more natural, and that part is recorded a little longer. In the second half of the show, the excitement at the end of the show, which continues with the drum solo, Go, Heat Of The Moment, and the encore Open Your Eyes, is also tremendous. Fans who were able to attend this live performance during the period when the artist was able to deliver something even higher than what fans expected from the artist should be truly fortunate. What a persuasive sound. This miraculous recording, which allows us to relive and reaffirm the charm and power of Western music at that time, is now available in its first master version 11 years after the original release.
