Description

A live album containing the earliest concerts right after the start is here. This work contains the “Pittsburgh performance on April 25, 1982”. Just how early is this? First, let’s look back at “1982”, the year that “AISA (Romantic Time)” was born. “AISA” released on March 18th: April 22nd – May 30th: North America #1 (32 performances) ←★Here★ June 11th – July 10th: North America #2 (22 performances) October 5th – 28th: Europe (15 performances) This is the outline of the activities in “1982”. “April 25th” of this work is about one month after the album’s release, and is the fourth performance of the tour. That alone makes it a valuable live album, but the taste of this work is not only valuable, but also excellent in quality. Although it is not the type that you would call “like a sound board”, its clarity is first class. Clear musical tones that are neither cracked nor cloudy reach you straight, and you can hear the four people’s musical tones beautifully. Particularly wonderful are Steve Howe’s guitar and John Wetton’s bass. Howe’s guitar, which manipulates the seven-colored tones of YES as it is, floats clearly, and the crisp bass is precise to the grain of each sound. Although the vocals feel a little distant, it also gives a feeling of pouring, and depicts a sound world that is gently wrapped in Wetton’s beautiful voice. In fact, this recording is the best among the very early ones. When it appeared on the early Ayanami label, it was praised by specialist magazines as “very high sound quality” and “full content and high sound quality, one of the best items on the early 1982 stage.” Its reputation even crossed the ocean, and it is such a famous recording that it was copied exactly and included in the official box “QUADRA”. This work is a work that revives such a famous master again with the latest and meticulous remastering. The show drawn with such quality is full of wild charm because it is the very early days. Although it was the fourth performance, the ensemble was not broken, and the fresh mood was transformed into momentum, as the most powerful players in the progressive rock scene gathered together. Unfortunately, the first two songs, “Time Again” and “One Step Closer”, were not recorded, but the momentum can be felt throughout the entire song. Especially amazing is “Wildest Dreams”. It is a super fast song that smashes in complex textures and drives so fast that you wonder if the tape speed has gone crazy. Although it has an abnormal sense of speed, far from being broken, the melody is just shining and full of dynamism. Of course, this is a symbolic song, and the other songs are also full of expressiveness and explosive momentum throughout the whole show. Another point is “The Man With The Golden Arm”, which is also the title of this work. It is the theme song of the movie “The Man With The Golden Arm”, but this song was only played in April 1982. It is a two and a half minute instrumental, but it is a very rare song that has only been recorded a few times. The Original ASIA was all the rage in the 80s, but disbanded in the blink of an eye. Even though they were only active for a short time, this is a masterpiece live album that features a wild show from their very early days, the fourth performance. Even though it’s “hard pop,” it puts the emphasis on “hard,” and is an album that overflows with the charm of a rock band. This is a masterpiece that revives the famous recordings that are officially recognized with the latest and meticulous mastering.
