Description
For us Japanese, “AISA in 1990” was special. We were able to meet AISA sung by John Wetton, which was not possible on his first visit to Japan. This six-disc set will bring back those memories with 100% real sound. This work contains a set of audience recordings of three of the Japanese performances: “September 24: Amagasaki performance”, “September 26: Yokohama performance”, and “September 29: Tokyo performance”. The similar concept of “ULTIMATE FLYING (Windmill 026)” has been very well received, but this work is its sister work, a completely separate recording with no overlaps. For your collection, be sure to check the schedule.・September 24th: Archaic Hall [Discs 1-2 of this work] ・September 25th: Gotanda Simple Insurance Hall “ULTIMATE FLYING” ・September 26th: Kanagawa Kenmin Hall [Discs 3-4 of this work] ・September 28th: Nakano Sunplaza ・September 29th: Nakano Sunplaza [Discs 5-6 of this work] (Discs 3-4 of ULTIMATE FLYING will also be released on September 29th) ・October 1st: Nakano Sunplaza ・October 2nd: Nakano Sunplaza “ULTIMATE FLYING” A total of seven performances. This work is a six-disc set, with two discs each for the first, third, and fifth days. In fact, all three of these recordings have been released separately before, and each one is a masterpiece that has been loved by fans on its own. “September 24: Amagasaki performance (Discs 1-2) as “DREAMS FOREVER”, “September 26: Yokohama performance (Discs 3-4) as “MAJESTIC NIGHT”. And “September 29: Tokyo performance (Discs 5-6)” debuted as the debut work “DRAGON ATTACK 1990”. All were masterpieces of ultimate freshness using the original master directly handed over from the recording artist. In this work, the master was re-digitized and finished with mastering optimal for modern audio. Please note here that Discs 5-6. The original release of “DRAGON ATTACK 1990” was “October 1st”, but it has now been revealed that it was “September 29th”. This day is also recorded on “ULTIMATE FLYING”, but of course it is a different recording. And the quality of this work is superior. Although “ULTIMATE FLYING” also had a great sound, the vivid and direct feeling approaching is incomparable. The fineness of the details is clear down to the very last grain of the bass, and the clarity of the sound shines like crystal. Discs 5-6 are the highlights of this set, but the other two sound sources are not inferior to “ULTIMATE FLYING”. In particular, the Amagasaki performance on Discs 1-2 is a beautiful recording in which Wetton’s singing voice pours into a crystal clear space, although it is a step away from the direct feeling. The greatness of “1990 ASIA” depicted with such quality… The key is John Wetton. He visited Japan for various projects, including the UK, solo, and Steve Hackett, but his “singing voice” and “melody” have never shone as bright as they did at this time. At the time, I was disappointed that Steve Howe was not there, but with “that voice” and “that bass,” he performed one super masterpiece after another from the trilogy of “ASIA,” “ALPHA,” and “ASTRA,” and even let me listen to “Rendezvous 6:02” and “Book Of Saturday.” This work contains three performances that are completely suffocating with such “Wetton’s charm.” In the history of Wetton’s visit to Japan, “ASIA in 1990” is engraved in his soul along with the U.K. This is a special collection of the precious original masters. For those who shared that space and those who did not. Along with the brother work “ULTIMATE FLYING,” it is a masterpiece that you should definitely immerse yourself in.
