Description
This is a recording of the Chicago performance on April 1, six months after the release of his third solo album, “Watermark,” from his first live tour in his career, the 1978 US tour, from a good audience master tape for that time. First of all, this tour was accompanied by a band led by Stephen Bishop, who also participated in the album, and the overall live sound was strongly AOR-like at the height of its popularity, with him singing with skilled musicians as his backing. And since it was his first tour, the point is that while it was sprinkled with S&G classics, it was overwhelmingly composed of songs from his own solo albums. However, since it was his first tour, the length of the live was compact, about an hour net, and instead Leah Kunkel (wife of drummer Russ Kunkel, who died in 2024), who also participated in the album and was a backing vocalist on stage, sang a few songs. Of course, in addition to his solo performances, he also inserted S&G’s representative songs here and there, showing off his unchanging angelic voice, which is a must-listen for fans of the past.
