This recording features a Chicago performance on April 1st, six months after the release of his third solo album, “Watermark,” from his first live tour of the US in 1978. This recording is from a master tape in excellent condition for the time. This tour featured a band led by Stephen Bishop, who also appeared on the album. The overall live sound was strongly influenced by the AOR movement at its peak, with Bishop singing alongside a master musician. As this was his first tour, the performance featured predominantly songs from his solo albums, while also featuring S&G classics. However, as this was his first tour, the performance was kept to a mere hour, with Leah Kunkel (wife of drummer Russ Kunkel, who passed away in 2024), who also appeared on the album and provided backing vocals, singing a few songs. In addition to his solo work, he also interspersed S&G classics throughout, showcasing his ever-present angelic voice. This is a must-listen for longtime fans.
