From the popular L label, which is known for its Japan tours, the performance at Kawasaki Club Citta on January 25th was recorded in full using a stereo IEM matrix. The first was a line source from an uncompressed multi-ear monitor source that Andy used on stage for monitoring, mixed with a digital audience master, and the IEM matrix source was mixed with an exquisite audience source, allowing the details of Andy’s guitar playing to be heard directly and clearly, perfectly reproducing a valuable club gig at a level comparable to a stereo soundboard sound source. This show, which was also a hot topic, was basically a solo guitar performance by Summers synchronized with a photo image, but he also used programmed backing to perform his unique guitar instrumental. The set also included the representative songs of The Police and his solo albums, as well as the jazz standard “Round Midnight,” the bossa nova standard “Menina Flor” known for Stan Getz, and “Manha de carnaval,” the theme song of the movie “Black Orpheus.” And for “Roxanne,” he used video footage to link the performance with the scene where Eddie Murphy sings, weaving in a fun performance. Anyway, it perfectly recreated a homely night filled with laughter and a peaceful mood from start to finish, and as a bonus, it is a memorial item for his visit to Japan, with a sound check from the day added.
