Description

This is a professional shot video of the performance in Frankfurt, Germany on June 6, 1997, and the performance at Summer Jazz Days in Warsaw on June 19, 1998! On both days, the 114 minutes of the incredible ensemble, captured at the most ideal angle, is sure to be a highlight! Another point is that you can carefully watch Hallsworth’s indecipherable fingering in the close-up footage. The sound quality is also excellent, and it is free from a thin sound image with no spread, and is truly official and superb sound quality! During this period, they tried out various rhythm sections, such as “Nan To Soon,” but Gary Novak (who played with George Benson, Chick Corea, Bob Berg, Alanis Morissette, etc. in the 90s) and the late Dave Carpenter (Boz Scaggs, Mike Stern, Lee Ritenour, Peter Erskine, etc.), who were top-class session musicians on the West Coast and participated in “The Sixteen Men of Tain (released in 1999),” showed off some incredible playing, and it’s interesting to see scenes where Holdsworth seems overwhelmed, which is unusual. (Although the situation is different, it overlaps with the scene where Chick Corea went all out with Weckel and Patitucci.) Gary’s powerful and sensitive transcendent rhythm control, Dave’s exquisite backing that makes good use of tension, and the high-speed and melodic transcendent solos are just goosebumps-inducing! The set list is very well balanced and sure to satisfy fans, with Material Real and Water On the Brain Pt. 2 from the 1983 release “Road Games,” Letters Of Marque from the 1985 release “I.O.U.”, Funnels and Looking Glass from the 1986 release “Atavachron,” Sixteen Men Of Tain, 0274, Above & Below, Texas, and Alan Pasqua’s Proto Cosmos from the 1999 release “The Sixteen Men of Tain”! As a trio, this is the ultimate item that allows you to fully enjoy Holdsworth’s most exciting and advanced performance in history, and it is available in limited quantities from overseas!
