Description
The fifth show of the “The Fish And Chips Tour” that started on November 22nd was held at the Milton Keynes Stables on November 28th, 2007, and was recorded with the audience using the original master. (The UK tour was held a total of 13 shows until December 6th) With the superb sound quality that is full of realism that you can’t ask for any more, you can enjoy the best ensemble that has been trained from start to finish. This spring, they toured with a quartet including Alan Pasqua, but in recent years they have often based their performance on the rhythm section, and this tour is the ultimate trio style with Chad Wackerman and Jimmy Johnson, which is a delight for fans. There are no major changes in the set list, but the special atmosphere full of originality that the three of them give off is incredibly attractive, and their amazingly well-coordinated performance is really full of highlights! Alan is becoming more and more like Coltrane, and his chord voicings using wide stretches that create a unique floating feeling, his indecipherable skipping (so fast that you can’t even catch the beat), his precise legato, Jimmy’s colorful bass lines full of songfulness, Chad’s percussive and solid rhythm combinations with cymbal cups and splashes, etc., etc., are overwhelming once again with the improvisations of these three powerful men. It is also nice to hear Fred, with its beautiful A-melody and beautiful voicing, and Proto-Cosmos (with its wonderful complex and flexible rhythmic swell, such as one and a half beats), which are numbers from the New Tony Williams Lifetime era that he actively incorporates. A tour of Japan will begin on January 8, 2008 (the drummer is Gary Husband, not Chad), and it is no exaggeration to say that the Alan Holdsworth Trio, who have just reached their peak, is now at their peak. This is the definitive live album of the latest live performance. Live at The Stables, Milton Keynes, UK 28th November 2007 TRULY PERFECT SOUND(from Original Masters) Disc 1 1. The Fifth 2. Fred 3.
