Description

In 2008, Alice Cooper made a miraculous return to Japan for the first time in 18 years. The precious Live in Japan is now available. What is engraved in this work is the “March 25, 2008: Shinkiba STUDIO COAST” performance. This is the best audience recording. Although Alice celebrated her 50th anniversary since her debut this year, she has only performed in Japan for 11 times in her long career. This is a good opportunity, so let’s sort out the whole story. 1990 (first visit to Japan) August 18: Omiya Sonic City August 20-23: NHK Hall (3 performances) August 27 + 28: Osaka Welfare Pension Hall (2 performances) 8 March 30: Seto City Cultural Center 2008 (18 years later) ・March 25: Shinkiba STUDIO COAST [this work] ・March 27: Osaka IMP Hall 2017 (9 years later) ・October 14: LOUDPARK 17 2018 (HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES) September 15th: Zepp Diversity Tokyo That’s all. It’s been 4 times, but the only time I can call it a tour is when I first visited Japan in 1990 (late!). After that, it was all about festival participation and showcase gigs with only 1-2 performances. In particular, last year’s HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES was treated as a bonus for Johnny Depp, and tickets were not sold to the general public. Under such circumstances, the year 2008 of this work was also the last visit to Japan where the “full ALICE COOPER SHOW” was seen. This work, which records such a show, is truly the best. Although the boiling heat is a realistic audience recording, the sound is extremely neat. Not only Odai Alice’s singing voice, but also each instrument comes straight through, and the details are truly beautiful. At the beginning, it feels a little distant, but as the show progresses (while remaining neat) it becomes more and more on. By the time you reach the fifth song “Woman Of Mass Distraction”, it becomes the best sound like FM broadcasting. In addition to such a sound, this work has a delicious on-site feel. In fact, the mood at the scene on this day was so special and moving. At that time, the latest work “DIRTY DIAMONDS” had been released for three years, and there was no Japanese version. Japan’s popularity was at its lowest, and no one thought that Alice would come to Japan after being absent for many years. For that reason, core fans from all over Japan were surprised and delighted by the sudden rain and the enthusiasm of the visitors. The Shinkiba performance of this work was the first day, and the night was crazy because of the miraculous return after 18 years. This work has a passionate mood. Of course, it would be a problem if you were to be covered in close-up screams, and it would be a waste if your performance exceeded the performance and singing. However, there is no need to worry about this in this work. There were no strange voices or screams, and the cheers rising from every corner of the venue were like steam rising in a hot spring area. It is a balance that allows you to enjoy the Alice Cooper Show that conquers it. Despite the exquisite atmosphere, the enthusiasm is limitless. Not only do they react between songs and the intro, but the cheers given to Odai’s every move are filled with joy. The joy of waiting for 18 years, the shock of finally seeing the real thing. To be honest, the set wasn’t overcrowded, but no one there was bored and I couldn’t help but be so happy! This is reflected in his tone of voice. Speaking of how happy I was when they sang “Told her that I came from TOKYO CITY” in “Be My Lover”… It was exquisite, yet hot…it would have been easier to explain if it had been full of screaming, but luckily that wasn’t the case. You will have no choice but to listen to this feeling. The show depicted in such a mood is truly wonderful. Speaking of the “DIRTY DIAMONDS” era, the official video “LIVE AT MONTREUX” is also left, but this work is similar but different. Although the style is the same, centering on the “70s WARNER era + revival EPIC era” and interweaving new songs “Woman Of Mass Distraction” and “Dirty Diamonds,” the repertoire from the 70s has expanded, perhaps conscious of Japan for the first time in 18 years. . Plenty of special songs such as “Muscle Of Love”, “Desperado”, “Halo Of Flies”, “Cold Ethyl”, “Dead Babies” and “Elected” are played. And the performance is also overwhelming. The scene called “Shinkiba STUDIO COAST” is too unsuitable for the emperor, but the concentrated feeling of the narrow closed room space is amazing. Of course, Odai, who has experienced all kinds of twists and turns in his long career, cannot cut corners just because he is narrow, and he will not allow it for his back. The crisp ensemble and vocalizations that were perfect for acting were no different from a stadium show in front of tens of thousands of people. Even so, it was a great hit and became a hot topic at the time.) Alice cherishes the fans in front of her by giving her all-out show, not by glossing over her words. This work is also proof of that. Even at “LOUDPARK 17” two years ago, Imperial Alice performed the same horror show and overwhelmed the new generation. However, the last full show was in Japan in 2008. It’s a neat and superb live in Japan that makes you feel even more frustrated, but at the same time you can feel the joy of being able to experience a valuable scene. The overflowing joyful mood exceeds that of their first visit to Japan, and the sense of fulfillment that immerses them in surpasses that of “LOUDPARK 17.” Live at Studio Coast, Tokyo, Japan 25th March 2008 TRULY PERFECT SOUND Disc 1(44:43) 1.
