Description

In the early 1980s, Alice Cooper took on the challenge of the new wave and drastically revamped her look and image. Introducing a definitive professional shot collection that allows you to witness the appearance of the emperor unlike any other era. There are five types of images included in this work. Let’s quickly introduce each of them in detail. [Disc 1: Pro shot live of Passaic performance] First of all, the super valuable multi-camera pro shot. This is one act of “SPECIAL FORCES TOUR” “October 10, 1981 Passaic Performance”. This footage was suddenly discovered a few years ago and shocked enthusiasts around the world. After all, even though the audience recording is said to be a valuable “SPECIAL FORCES TOUR”, the video, and moreover, the multi-camera pro shot came out. Although it was in monochrome, the value of being able to see the (almost) full show was extremely high. Of course, the sound is also excellent with a direct-to-the-desk sound board. In fact, it is so good that a live album with only the audio from this video is also traded. Some people may be struck by the “monochrome” and “Passaic performances.” Yes, many professional shots were unearthed from Passaic during this period, including RAINBOW’s “DOWN TO NEW JERSEY”. This work is also one of that series. Disc 2 also has color footage, but the real thrill here is the long live stage. TV programs often feature a few original songs or lip sync from studio albums, but this work is definitely a live performance. Moreover, the camera work is also good. Although the TV broadcast is only “Alice + Back”, this work also holds the band “SPECIAL FORCES” properly. You can also see the members dressed in military costumes and Mike Pinera and John Nitzinger playing passionately. Although it is not a complete version because there are cuts in only a few parts, such as the first half of “Generation Landslide ’81,” you can still enjoy a full-scale show that lasts about 76 minutes. [Disc 2: Cult program “A PARIS”] Disc 2 is a compilation of 4 full-color TV programs. First up is the legendary cult show “ALICE COOPER A PARIS.” A large-scale French tour was held in 1982, and this is a special number produced for that purpose. This show is truly a cult. amazing. Too amazing! The program consists of “10 mime performances + 5 studio live songs”, but it’s amazing from a mime standpoint. Alice and the band will appear in their “SPECIAL FORCES TOUR” costumes and perform in a variety of locations, including airports, scrapped car factories, meatpacking plants, dilapidated subway cars, and more. What’s surprising is that all of them are original to the program. Moreover, each piece is made with great care. In “Clones (We’re All),” a mummified aluminum foil Alice goes crazy, and in “Seven And Seven Is,” she goes wild, stretching and shadow boxing. The costumes and images change all the time, and every single one of them is of more than enough quality to be an ordinary video clip, and could even be released as a home video. For a one-time special program, we have put together a huge volume of 10 songs with great care. Alice has always had a high level of visual awareness, but I never expected her to go this far… Then, I interviewed myself (in French) in two roles, and the second half was a studio live performance of 5 songs. Anyway, what is amazing is the appearance from the “SPECIAL FORCE” era. In addition to the unique military-style mood of the members, Alice is also very strong. She has a hairstyle that looks like an old lady from the Taisho era, makeup that makes her look like a failed fag, and her outfit is a leather drooler (?) with a kamikaze headband tied around her neck like a kamikaze trooper. What’s more, both the headband and the Japanese flag are wrapped upside down. Foreigners often misunderstand kanji, but it’s still amazing… It is so intense that it is revered by enthusiasts around the world as “Alice’s best cult video”, and this work is the highest version. It is the ultimate video digitized from the 1st generation VHS. [Disc 2: Superb quality “THE TOMORROW SHOW”] “THE TOMORROW SHOW” will make the performance of the “SPECIAL FORCE” era even more enjoyable. The three songs “Who Do You Think We Are?”, “Seven And Seven Is” and “Under My Wheels” will be played live in the station’s studio, but the point is the super beautiful quality. There used to be B-grade quality videos on the market, but this work is a master discovered in recent years, and it is an official-grade visual beauty with no white line noise or tape twist. You can watch extremely rare songs such as “Who Do You Think We Are?” and “Seven And Seven Is” with such beautiful visuals… This is also an irresistible treasure video for Alice fanatics. [Disc 2: Shocking variety special program “PINK LADY & JEFF”] “PINK LADY & JEFF” from 1980 is shocking even to fans other than enthusiasts. Speaking of PINK LADY, we Japanese people think of a pair of female idols, but they are actually pink ladies. It will be a special American variety show in which she was invited, and the girls will actually appear, sing, and perform skits with the Americans. It’s almost a program like Drift or Hyokinzoku. Various big names made guest appearances, including our own Alice. Unfortunately, there is no connection between Alice and Pink○D, but “Clones (We’re All)” was played. This mime video is known as a clip, but it is said that it was actually intended for this program. After all, Mie & Kei are shocking. She appeared quietly in Japanese attire, then quickly took it off and put on a pink dress. When the host asked her, “Do you speak English?” she replied, “Well, how about you?” and got a laugh. They sing “Monster” with foreign dancers and alien costumes, and in a skit they threaten cowboys with karate. Since Alice is the main character in this work, only a 5-minute digest is included (Alice’s “Clones (We’re All)” is the full version), but its impact is overwhelming. [Disc 2: News footage of the Toronto riots] The last footage is shocking in a different way. Although it is not well known in Japan, the biggest topic of Alice in 1980 is the huge riot that occurred in Toronto. This work includes three types of news programs. The riot occurred on August 19, 1980. The opening act of progressive rock band ZON was over, and it was finally time for Emperor Alice to appear… but no matter how much time passed, she never appeared. The cancellation was announced just after 10pm. At the time, it was explained that the cause was a lack of equipment at Pearson Airport, but if that had been the case, the stage would have been unable to be set up and the event would have been canceled in advance. According to what Alice herself said later, she suddenly fell ill. He suffered from a bronchial asthma attack and was unable to walk. Regardless of the cause, the more than 13,000 fans who gathered at the scene were furious. There was a huge riot. In this work, you can witness the scene in an ultra-realistic way. The venue was filled with shouts and screams, and a tremendous number of pipe chairs flew from everywhere. A total of 268 police officers were deployed to the scene, some threatening the crowd from horseback and others chasing after spectators holding chairs. It was a tragic situation, with 31 people arrested and 18 hospitalized, and the scenes of those arrests and Alice Make fans being rushed to the hospital are also depicted. There are some records of riots in the rock world, such as EL&P, DEEP PURPLE, and GUNS N’ ROSES, but most of them are audio only, or the venue was deserted after the riot had subsided. However, this video is not like that. A spectator is shown going on a rampage, provoking a police officer right in front of his eyes, and being carried away injured. Regardless of whether you are a fan of Alice or not, it is a tremendously powerful rock document. The New Wave period was unlike any other era, legendary cult programs, idols and riots… There is no ambiguous footage, and it’s about two and a half hours long, just like a blockbuster movie. A two-disc set full of shocking footage.
