Description

“BILLION DOLLAR BABIES TOUR (hereinafter referred to as BDB TOUR)” was the heyday of Emperor Alice I. The soundboard collection is now available. The shows engraved in this work are two performances “May 11, 1973 Inglewood performance” and “May 30 of the same year Minneapolis performance”. This is a 2-disc set that combines each long soundboard recording. Alice is a little different from the average band/artist, and their albums and tours often don’t match, and that was the case with “BDB TOUR.” In order to explain the circumstances around that, let’s start with the tour schedule at that time. ●1973《BILLION DOLLAR BABIES” released on February 25th》・February 27th: Dress rehearsal・March 1st – June 7th: North America #1 (62 performances)←★Coco★《November 20th “MUSCLE OF LOVE” released》 December 8th-31st: North America #2 (13 performances) March 30th – April 8th, 1974: South America (5 performances)《August “GREATEST HITS”》 This is the schedule for 1973/1974, the end of the band era. They have released three hit albums including the best album, all of which are part of the “BDB TOUR.” To differentiate among enthusiasts, “North America #1” is also called “BDB TOUR,” “North America #2” is “BDB HOLIDAY TOUR,” and “South America” leg is also called “SOUTH AMERICAN BDB TOUR.” Under such circumstances, both performances of this work are “North America #1”. The Inglewood performance was the 47th concert, and the Minneapolis performance was the 58th concert. [Long-length soundboard set for a performance separate from the official work] The soundboard recorded at such a show is a masterpiece that has represented “BDB TOUR” and, by extension, THE ALICE COOPER GROUP. This tour also includes official works such as the video work “GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN” and the bonus live album that came with “BILLION DOLLAR BABIES”, but these are the Dallas performance (April 28th) and the Houston performance (April 28th). 29th). The two performances of this work are different from either of them. For enthusiasts, there are sound boards for the New Orleans performance, Portland performance, and New York performance on this tour, but they are fragmented into a few songs. The only long soundboards comparable to the official one are the Inglewood performance and the Minneapolis performance, and this work is a definitive two-disc set that allows you to collect them all at once. Moreover, the quality is also excellent. Although it is a vintage sound board that is not as good as the official work, the master freshness is exquisite and the highest ever. And the best thing about it is the sense of direct connection. In the two official works, the cheers are overdubbed to create a simulated experience of the show, and scale production is added with effects at the mix stage, but this work exposes the core. Therefore, there is no presence of the audience, and there is no sense of realism. The rough and clumsy band sound flows directly into your brain. This is irresistibly good. Generally, sound boards are required to be “official replacements”, but “sound board mania” is different. Viewing live albums not as a “simulated concert experience” but as a “musical difference of live performance”, he earnestly pursues a sense of synchronization with the band. Such enthusiasts will love the sound board boot directly connected to the desk rather than the official work with atmosphere production. In this work, you can enjoy the “BDB TOUR” to its fullest. [Full show that can only be seen at the peak of the game] With such a sound, it is a show that exudes the momentum and enthusiasm that can only be experienced during the heyday. The set is the same as “GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN”, but this is a good opportunity to organize it here. ●LOVE IT TO DEATH (1 song)・I’m Eighteen ●KILLER (2 songs)・Dead Babies/Under My Wheels ●SCHOOL’S OUT (2 songs)・My Stars/School’s Out ●BILLION DOLLAR BABIES (8 songs)・Hello Hooray/Billion Dollar Babies/Elected/Raped And Freezin’/No More Mr. Nice Guy/Unfinished Sweet/Sick Things/I Love The Dead…and so on. In the Inglewood performance (Disc 1), in addition to this, “A Night on Bald Mountain” that is played during the intermission and the outro SE “God Bless America” are also completely included. In the Minneapolis performance (disc 2), such SE parts and the second half of “Dead Babies” are cut, but most of the live performance parts are recorded. It’s too biased towards “BILLION DOLLAR BABIES” to call it “the best selection of songs from the band’s era,” but that great album itself is a collection of famous songs on par with the best album. There is no sense of lack, and you will be dazzled by the rush of historical masterpieces. For that reason, there are many songs that are still familiar to this day, but the ones that catch my attention are “Raped And Freezin'” and “My Stars.” The former was sealed off for nearly 30 years after going solo, and the latter’s comeback for the first time in 45 years during this year’s tour became a hot topic. It is a rare song precisely because it is from the “BDB TOUR” era. And what makes you feel the “BDB TOUR” era even more than the set is the performance. The ensemble centered around Neil Smith’s manual drumming is fiercely groovy. Of course, if they focused on each individual’s performance, they would be better in the solo era when they gathered players after sessions, but this groove and rhythm can only be found in THE ALICE COOPER GROUP. In fact, support such as Mick Mashbier (guitar) and Bob Dolin (keyboard) are also included, which adds a sense of thickness and stability that makes it gorgeous. This work is a live album where you can enjoy the real pleasure of such a band era with a directly connected sound board. “BILLION DOLLAR BABIES TOUR” is the one and only peak in the history of the Emperor, who has left behind many glories and legends. It would be a waste to settle this with just “GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN.” The definitive soundboard album that you should enjoy after the official works. L.A.
