Description

In 2005, ACCEPT reunited with founder Udo Dirkschneider for the first time in nine years and returned to Japan with a twin guitar lineup. This is the superb original recording. This work is recorded at the “SHIBUYA-AX performance on July 30, 2005”. It is a superb audience recording. The 2005 reunion was different from the 1990s in many ways. First of all, it was a five-person formation with Herman Frank back, it was a tour-only project that did not create works, and U.D.O. was still in existence and was in parallel at the same time. It’s a good opportunity to look back on the outline of their activities.・February 19th: Performance in Böblingen *April 25th-29th: Eastern Europe (3 shows) *May 15th: Appearance at Rock Hard Festival *June 4th-12th: Europe #1 (3 shows) ・June 24th: Appearance at Bang Your Head *June 25th-July 17th: Europe #2 (4 shows) *July 29th-August 2nd: Japan (4 shows) ←★here★ *August 6th-27th: Europe #3 (5 shows) {September 30th: U.D.O. “MISSION NO. X” released} ・December 17th: Performance in Berlin *Note: “*” indicates a show as ACCEPT, “・” indicates a U.D.O. stage. This was ACCEPT/U.D.O. in 2005. ACCEPT’s European tour was broken up into a few shows each, and Japan was included in that. Although U.D.O. only performed three times, they were working on the album “MISSION NO. X” at the same time. Also, U.D.O. appeared at “Bang Your Head” on June 24th, but the following day, on June 25th, they appeared as ACCEPT at “Graspop Metal Meeting”. It was a year of many things. Now, let’s zoom in on their first visit to Japan in nine years. July 29th: SHIBUYA-AX July 30th: SHIBUYA-AX ←★This work★ July 31st: Namba Hatch August 2nd: DIAMOND HALL A total of four performances. The tour was a compact tour of Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, and this was the second concert of the tour. This vacuum-packed version of the show is truly the best! The original DAT master, brought to us by a unique route, produced a thick/zero-distance, close-contact sound. Although it absorbs the enthusiasm of the real scene, the essential sound of the performance is “like a sound board” itself. Since it is SHIBUYA-AX, it is definitely indoors, but even if you listen carefully with headphones, you can’t feel the hall sound, and there is no echo like an outdoor festival. And yet all the instruments feel right in front of you, Udo’s vocals are at a breathing level, and you can feel the vibration of the skin with each beat of the drums. Of course, the sense of separation is excellent, the twin guitars do not mix even when they are entangled, and the deep bass chorus is thick, but you can feel the voice of each person properly. Although it was recorded 17 years ago, it is rare even in the present day of 2022. It is a super-class live album that serves as the “official substitute for ACCEPT in 2005”. Such an official-class sound depicts a full show that vividly revives the golden 80s. Unlike the 90s, there are no new songs, so it is a 100% pure greatest hits. To give you an idea of how rich the album is, let’s summarize the set contents here. Balls to the Wall (6 songs) London Leatherboys / Winter Dreams (★) / Head Over Heels (★) / Turn Me On (★) / Love Child (★) / Balls To The Wall Restless and Wild (5 songs) Flash Rockin’ Man / Neon Nights / Restless And Wild / Fast As A Shark / Princess Of The Dawn Others (9 songs) Breaker: Starlight / Breaker / Son Of A Bitch / Burning Metal Heart: Living For Tonite / Metal Heart / Up To The Limit Russian Roulette: T.V. War (★) / Monsterman *Note: The “★” mark indicates songs that could not be heard even on the two great albums from the reunion era, “NAGOYA 1996: DAT MASTER” and “NAGOYA 1993: DAT MASTER”. …And so on. We also introduce the 1990s Japan albums “NAGOYA 1996: DAT MASTER” and “NAGOYA 1993: DAT MASTER”, but there are plenty of masterpieces that you couldn’t hear on either of them. In particular, “Winter Dreams”, “Turn Me On” and “T.V. War” are songs that are not even on the official masterpiece “STAYING A LIFE” from the first visit to Japan, and embody the ultimate “culmination of the golden age”. ACCEPT in 2005, which spelled out the greatest hits including the “RUSSIAN ROULETTE” number with Udo’s voice and twin harmony. This work is the definitive edition that allows you to enjoy the full show with official class transcendent sound. It is truly the “2005 version of STAYING A LIFE” … no, it is even more than that, the ultimate career peak live album. This is a superb audience recording of the reunion’s visit to Japan, including founder Udo, at SHIBUYA-AX on July 30, 2005. The original DAT master was brought to us by a unique route, and the sound is extremely thick and close to zero distance. All the instruments are right in front of you, like a soundboard, and Udo’s vocals are at a breathing level, and you can feel the vibration of the skin on each drum beat.
