Description

The “FLY ON THE WALL Tour” is a delicious unexplored area filled with amazing performances and valuable numbers that are no different from their heyday. A new excavation live album is now available that will give you the best experience of the scene. This work was recorded at “Manchester performance on January 13, 1986”. This is a powerful audience recording. Speaking of 1986, it was also a time when the two intersected, and the sets were different accordingly. First, let’s look back at the schedule at the time to sort things out. 1985, January 15th + 19th: ROCK IN RIO appearance [“FLY ON THE WALL” released on June 28th], September 4th – November 24th: North America #1 (58 performances) 1986, January 13th – February 27th: Europe (28 performances) ←★Here★《“WHO MADE WHO” released on May 24th》・July 31st – September 20th: North America #2 (42 performances) This is 1985 / AC/DC in 1986. After the release of “FLY ON THE WALL”, they will start a world tour, and the “North America #1 + Europe” will be the “FLY ON THE WALL Tour”, and the “North America #2” will include the soundtrack version “WHO MADE WHO”. was the “WHO MADE WHO Tour”. The Manchester Star performance of this work is the former “European” leg. It was the first day of the show in 1986, when it restarted for the first time in about two months. This work, recorded at such a kick-off site, is a superb sound that will wake you up to its thick core. There’s no sense of distance anyway. If you analyze the waveform while staring at it, you might be able to detect hall noise, but even if you listen carefully with headphones, you won’t be able to detect any blur or cloudiness. The cheers and applause that erupt between songs can be said to be typical of the audience (the huge choruses of “Whole Lotta Rosie,” “Let There Be Rock,” and “Hells Bells” were amazing!), but this level is typical of radio broadcasts. I’m at a level where I’m at a loss. To put it bluntly, it’s crisper than the studio release “FLY ON THE WALL,” which had too much delay, and it makes you want to clap your knees and say, “This is the original AC/DC sound!” The full show of “FLY ON THE WALL Tour” with delicious valuable songs is drawn with that straight-shooting sound. Speaking of live shows from the Simon Wright era, there is also the 1983 Houston performance that was formalized with “PLUG ME IN”, but this work has a lot of repertoire that can not be heard there. Let’s organize the sets while comparing them here. Bon Scott Era (8 songs) – High Voltage: The Jack (★) / T.N.T. (★) – Evil and Hell: Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap / Jailbreak (★) – Rock Spirit: Whole Lotta Rosie (★) / Let There Be Rock (★)・Power Age: Sin City・Highway to Hell (★) Brian Johnson Era (8 songs)・Back in Black/ You Shook Me All Night Long (★ ) / Shoot to Thrill / Hells Bells・Devil’s Invitation: For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) (★)・Fly on the Wall (★) / Shake Your Foundations (★) /Sink the Pink (★)…and it looks like this. While Simon’s delicious versions of major songs are lined up, the one that catches the ear is the “FLY ON THE WALL” number. All of them are rare songs that were only played on this tour, and the sound is more natural and tighter than the studio version. When played with the original AC/DC sound, it becomes known that it is a masterpiece that would not be out of place even if it was included in “BACK IN BLACK” or “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK (WE SALUTE YOU)”. The “FLY ON THE WALL” era tends to be a little dented in the history of AC/DC, which has always been a monster. However, rare songs are delicious because of such an era, and the performance era maintained the harshness unique to the 1980s. This work is a valuable masterpiece that allows you to fully experience such a show with the direct sound of a sound board. I can’t stop underground recording because I can come across a live album like this. Powerful audience recording of “January 13, 1986 Manchester Performance”. Anyway, it’s a close sound with a very thick core approaching without any sense of distance, and to be honest, it’s crisper than the studio work “FLY ON THE WALL”, which had too much delay. The “FLY ON THE WALL” number, which was only played on this tour, is delicious, and it is a masterpiece live album that can be enjoyed with the original AC/DC sound, which is more natural and tight than the studio version.
