Description

From the two performances in Japan of the last tour of 2026 “FINAL FRONTIER Tour” to “The Greatest Rock Fukuoka 2026” held at Fukuoka PayPay Dome on August 29th, the live performance when appearing as a big bird is fully recorded on multi-stereo IEM matrix sound source, and the edition with DV includes high quality audience shots of the day. First of all, it is a multi-IEM matrix specification that mixes the stereo IEM sources with different mix balances and digital audience sources that each member used on stage with an exquisite balance. The clicks that are typical of some IEM sound sources are cut out as much as possible, and the entire performance is reproduced in soundboard quality with hybrid sound. Furthermore, the DVD video using a digital camera mainly consists of screen shots taken from a huge screen set up at the venue, and a total of 3 sources of video are edited to reproduce the entire live performance with a multi-camera feel like a professional shot. Moreover, the audio part is synchronized with the CD’s multi-IEM matrix source, and the quality, including the audio, is completely different from the fragmented video on Youtube etc. The live performance was not a festival-style short set, but a full set of 20 songs, which was more like a solo performance, including the early prog number “Of a Lifetime” from the debut album, the rare “Suzanne” from “Raised on Radio”, and even “Chain Reaction” and “Dead or Alive,” which was a hit even with core fans, was included, but the biggest surprise of the day was “Faithfully,” in which Hugo, who once auditioned for Journey’s vocals and is currently active in a Journey tribute band, appeared. He has the look and voice of Steve Perry, and he performed vocals here in Japan that are convincing, even with the anecdote that he was rejected because he looked too similar to Omari. After that, the encore song “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” and “Any Way You Want It” brought the band to a grand finale. This is a Japan-only commemorative item that compiles the best quality sound and video of a night that should be passed down and was packed with surprises and fan service worthy of a headliner.
