From iconic early songs to tracks from their reunion, this comprehensive 4-disc set allows you to enjoy Suede’s live history from 1999 to 2016 all at once. This must-see video collection for fans allows you to fully enjoy Brett Anderson’s alluring and passionate vocals, the dramatic band sound, and the stage full of unity with the audience. The following are the details of each disc as they were sold at the time. Disc 1 features a compilation of Suede’s 2016 and 1999 Japan tour performances, showcasing their iconic 90s UK rock sound. It includes two high-definition, pro-shot Japanese performances. First up is Suede’s 2016 performance, appearing before the headliner on the Sonic Stage. Starting with “Sabotage,” vocalist Brett runs around the stage with full energy from the very beginning. When the classic “Trash” is played, the audience surges forward, creating a chaotic scene. Adding to the excitement, “Animal Nitrate” begins, eliciting roars of joy from the crowd. Brett, drenched in sweat, comes close to the fans and sings with all his might—a truly moving sight. Next is their 1999 performance at Akasaka BLITZ. Brett, as always, swings the microphone around and shouts aggressively… hyping up the audience with “HEY! HEY! HEY!” and constantly going wild. The sound is equally hard-hitting. The running time is 120 minutes. 2016 Summersonic Japan 1 Intro〜Sabotage 2 Killing of a Flashboy 3 Trash 4 Animal Nitrate 5 We Are the Pigs 6 Heroine 7 Pantomime Horse 8 The Drowners 9 To the Birds 10 Can’t Get Enough 11 It Starts and Ends With You 12 The Next Life 13 Sleeping Pills 14 Everything Will Flow 15 So Young 16 Metal Mickey 17 Beautiful Ones 1999 Live In Tokyo (Remastered) 1 Can’t Get Enough 2 Trash 3 She 4 Metal Mickey 5 Everything Will Flow 6 Down 7 Beautiful Ones 8 Lazy 9 Animal Nitrate 10 Electricity 11 She’s In Fashion 12 Saturday Night Approx 126min Disc 2 This is the latest professional-shot live video. This is a recording of their performance at the Glastonbury Festival on June 27, 2015. While writing new songs, they continue to perform at their own pace at festivals throughout the UK. Even on this big stage, they don’t try to be flashy, and the impression is that they are just being themselves, in a straightforward and honest way. They don’t focus too much on recent releases like “Bloodsports” or “Dog Man Star (rah),” but rather play a good mix of popular songs and songs they want to play in a natural style. There’s even a moment when Brett goes down into the audience, and you can tell that they themselves are really enjoying the festival. The recording is 60 minutes long and features a menu chapter format. Recorded with audience shots from their November 14th show in Bologna, Italy. The shot is from the right side of the stage. It’s a very impressive piece of work, with considerable effort put into zooming in, resulting in a very powerful shot. Sexy, stylish, and passionate, this beautiful live performance is something only Suede can deliver. For their regular tour from the fall of 2013, excluding festivals, they made the incredible achievement of coming to Japan at the beginning and end of the tour! I wonder how much Brett loves Japan. This is the only full video from this tour, with a menu chapter format. Running time is 90 minutes. It couples two of their latest live performances from 2011. The first half contains professionally shot footage of their performance at the Latitude Festival in the UK on July 17th. The second half features audience footage of their “Coming Up” tribute concert at the 02 Academy in London, UK on May 21st. The camera is completely fixed, always capturing the entire stage, making it very easy to watch. On the other hand, some may find the complete lack of zoom or other controls disappointing. Recommended for both those who saw them at Summer Sonic and those who were disappointed! *Please note that the audio volume suddenly increases when switching to the second half. The running time is 90 minutes.
