GTR Steve Howe,Steve Hackett/London,UK 09.14.1986 Soundboard Edition

This 46-minute recording captures the September 14th, 1986 performance at the Hammersmith Odeon in London by GTR, the supergroup formed by Steve Howe and Steve Hackett, who only released one album. The recording is from an official-quality stereo soundboard source. The master is from an FM broadcast by Capitol Radio in the UK, and the mix is superb, having been properly prepared for broadcast, making it of a quality that would pass as an official bootleg. In addition to the six tracks from their only album, the setlist includes the unreleased tour song “Prizefighters” and Yes’s “Roundabout,” which is a highlight. Howe’s version of “Roundabout” is very much in his style, but different from the 1970 Yes version, and of course, the interplay of Howe and Hackett’s distinctive guitar tones makes the entire performance worth listening to.
