John Taylor/Germany 05.21.2000

A high-quality live recording of the May 21st performance in Bielefeld, Germany, from the 2000 European tour of the trio formed by ECM label’s leading pianist and composer John Taylor, along with Mark Johnson and Joey Baron, has been released. In a quiet space, the trio’s performance, which plays straight jazz naturally, gives you a rich lyricism that cannot be experienced in studio recordings. Joey Baron, a popular drummer in Japan, and Mark Johnson, a bassist, have also produced albums and are well-regarded for their harmonious playing. This time too, he never takes the lead role, instead focusing on playing Kuroko, supporting John Taylor on the piano. If you like piano trios, please listen to the best jazz that we recommend.
