Description
What seemed like it would be a bizarre, unconventional masterpiece turned out to be a Grammy Award-winning, historic album: ‘MTV UNPLUGGED IN NEW YORK’. Now, rehearsal recordings detailing the behind-the-scenes story have been unexpectedly unearthed! An astonishingly superb soundboard album, more than three times the length of the previous version, is being released urgently!! This completely new soundboard recording, unearthed through our own unique channels, was recorded on “November 18, 1993, Sony Music Studios.” It’s a stereo soundboard recording of the rehearsal held just before the actual ‘MTV UNPLUGGED IN NEW YORK’ performance. Until now, “MTV UNPLUGGED rehearsal” only had about 22 and a half minutes of video footage included as a bonus on the official DVD. There were also bootlegs claiming to have full-length footage, but even those were only about 40 and a half minutes. In contrast, this is on a different level. This completely new soundboard recording, obtained through our own unique channels, is a total of 2 hours, 5 minutes, and 26 seconds long. This new recording features “rehearsals and jams for 11 songs” expanded to more than three times the original length. The shocking, superb quality rivals official releases, and it’s not just longer; the sound quality is also “superb.” Among the many recordings, few show such a wide range of quality as rehearsals. Some have the superb sound quality of a completely official release, while others are recordings made on a boombox left on site. This release is very close to the former. Although the detailed recording circumstances are not known, the sound undoubtedly suggests a direct connection to the mixing console. It has a rawness that is impossible to find in official releases, yet the sound quality is on par with official releases. In fact, each note of the guitar cutting is extremely clear, and you can even feel Kurt’s breath passing through the microphone mesh when listening to his vocals. Furthermore, the conversations between band members between songs and the detailed instructions given to the staff are all poured into your brain exactly as they are. A sublime 2 hours and 5 minutes of peeking behind the scenes of a masterpiece. The sound depicts the behind-the-scenes of a masterpiece that no one has ever heard before. The repertoire, performed as if it were the real thing, is an “alternate version of the masterpiece,” and the atmosphere before the show is filled with the sense of secrecy of peeking behind the scenes of a masterpiece. In other words, this is a completely different kind of experience from watching a finished show. You can feel the band experimenting, checking the tempo, rubbing chords together, and occasionally cracking jokes right before your eyes. That feeling washes over you with a sense of unity, as if the band has taken up residence inside your skull. While basically following the setlist of the actual show, the loose, on-the-spot feel unique to rehearsals is delightful. “Come As You Are” is played in three takes, including fragments, “The Man Who Sold The World” in two takes, and “Pennyroyal Tea,” “Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam,” and “Oh, Me” are also tried multiple times. From a cover of David Bowie’s “The Man Who Sold The World” to The Vaselines’ “Jesus Wants Me For A Sunbeam,” the song selection that graced that night allows you to witness the moment when the picture gradually takes shape from a tentative stage. There are moments when it falls apart into chaos, and moments when it becomes a masterful performance just like the real thing. Furthermore, there are two moments of relaxed jamming in between. It’s irresistible to see the band in their natural state, playing music without any pretense. This album is a sister album to “MTV Unplugged in New York,” which aired on December 16, 1993, about a month after this recording, and was released in November 1994 after Kurt Cobain’s death, becoming a huge hit. This illegitimate album is a sibling to that iconic album of the era. This two-disc set imprints the live performance and behind-the-scenes moments that no one has ever heard before onto your brain in unprocessed soundboard quality that rivals official releases. This rehearsal album lets you relive every moment of the birth of that legendary performance. Who would have thought such a record had been dormant for 33 years? The miraculous night that gave birth to a masterpiece. The complete rehearsal album of ‘MTV UNPLUGGED’. A superb stereo soundboard recording made at the same “Sony Music Studios on November 18, 1993” as the actual performance. A completely new master unearthed through an exclusive channel, this recording is over three times longer than the previous version, at approximately 2 hours and 5 minutes. Moreover, it boasts superb quality comparable to official releases, clearly capturing everything from the acoustic guitar riffs to the conversations and instructions in between. This is a shocking, absolute record that lets you relive the raw, unadulterated creation of a masterpiece. The complete version is making its world premiere!!!
