Description
This release couples 1 hour and 46 minutes of footage from the rehearsals of the unprecedentedly large-scale “Dangerous Tour,” held from 1992 to the following year, with audio and video newly digitally remastered in 2026. Although the detailed data is still unknown, this footage, filmed at Neverland in 1991, is said to be footage of rehearsals held for the tour, leaked by someone involved at the time. While it has been circulating for some time and is familiar to fans, the original VHS master was inferior in quality compared to recent digital video. Therefore, this title features mastering using the latest equipment for both audio and video, reproducing this valuable film with significantly improved clarity and balance. Moreover, the entire dress rehearsal leading up to the actual performance was captured in professional-shot form using multiple cameras, and the camera work was carefully calculated, perhaps with the intention of showing it on the venue screens. The live performance proceeds as if it were the real thing, but there are many scenes that can only be seen here, such as Michael looking much more relaxed compared to the perfectly polished performance, and interacting with the staff in between. Around this time, Michael parted ways with Quincy Jones and found other producers such as Teddy Riley himself, his dancing became more solid, and the setlist included hit numbers from “Dangerous” such as “Jam” and “Remember the Time,” as well as classic Motown numbers and, of course, megaton hit tunes from “Thriller,” all performed in tour arrangements of this period. Due to its high level of perfection, many fans consider this to be his peak, making this collector’s edition a must-have for fans who haven’t seen it yet.
