Various Artists (Crystal Pride, Grave, Kim Sixx, Randy, Silver Mountain) – The Vinyl Era: The Dawn of Metal (1980s Euro Metal Vinyl Years)

This is the latest entry in a popular compilation series dedicated to unearthing hidden gems from the 1980s underground heavy metal scene. This volume features 17 carefully selected tracks drawn from rare singles and EPs—releases that saw extremely limited pressings and are seldom seen on the market today. The lineup spans a wide range of acts, from talented bands familiar to aficionados of NWOBHM, European metal, and US underground metal—such as Crystal Pride, Grave, Highbrow, Kim Sixx, Silver Mountain, Witch Cross, and Zone Zero—to groups that have attained legendary status as “lost” bands. Listeners can fully appreciate the unique character of each track, ranging from melodic traditional heavy metal and high-speed anthems to dark, dramatic compositions. Many of these recordings are now nearly impossible to find in their original vinyl formats, making this a valuable compilation that allows you to directly experience the excitement and passion of the underground scene of that era. A unique appeal of this series is the chance to enjoy—all in one place—masterpieces that were overlooked by major labels and early recordings from bands that only gained recognition later on. Packed with the allure of vintage metal, this album is highly recommended not only for listeners eager to explore the deep world of 80s heavy metal but also for rare-record collectors and NWOBHM fans alike.
