This release captures the opening night of the 2026 Japan tour—held on May 22 at the Ariake SGC Hall in Tokyo—in a full-length CD format derived from a multi-source stereo IEM matrix recording. The audio features a masterfully balanced mix of the individual stereo IEM feeds used by the band members on stage (each with its own unique mix balance) and a digital audience source. This matrix setup delivers perfect left-right channel separation for keyboards and guitar, with Boz’s vocals centered, all rendered with astonishing separation and clarity—and notably free of the click tracks or guide cues often found in IEM-based recordings. The setlist—a career-spanning “best-of” collection anchored by seven tracks from *Silk Degrees*—featured rotating selections for the second and third songs of the show; on this night, “Sierra” and “Drowning in the Sea of Love” were chosen. Another rotating element was the second encore; while some shows ended after a single encore or even just one song, this performance concluded with “You Never Can Tell.” This Japan-exclusive memorial item recreates the tour’s opening night in Tokyo with audio quality rivaling that of an official bootleg release.
