Description

This release pairs audio and video from the June 13th Los Angeles show—the fourth date of the “Fifty Something Tour”—marking Rush’s long-awaited return to live performance after an 11-year hiatus, timed to commemorate their 50th anniversary in 2026. The audio features a high-quality audience recording captured with state-of-the-art digital equipment, delivering the full 2-hour-and-46-minute concert with soundboard-level fidelity. The accompanying DVD offers an unobstructed, crystal-clear view from the front row of the stands, slightly to the left of the stage; the camera captures the entire band and the video screens with stable angles and frequent use of zoom. This tour—the band’s first as a quartet—kicked off at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, the very venue where they had played their final show with Neil Peart. The lineup featured German drummer Anika Nilles (known for her work with Jeff Beck, as well as her roles as a composer and producer) stepping into the role that had drawn so much speculation following Peart’s departure, alongside an added keyboardist. On this final night of the four-show Forum run, the concert opened with “Xanadu,” followed by a two-part setlist packed with the band’s greatest hits. Tribute sections honoring Neil Peart were woven throughout the performance, including video tributes shown before songs like “Bravado” and “Time Stand Still.” While the tour was known for its bold, rotating setlists, this night—like the second show—highlighted a complete performance of the epic “2112.” However, it also featured tour premieres such as “A Farewell To Kings,” “The Pass,” and “The Anarchist,” alongside tracks not played on the second night (which also featured “2112”), such as “Distant Early Warning,” “New World Man,” “Far Cry,” and “The Garden”—making the significant variation in the setlist a major highlight. This is a must-have item for longtime fans—a complete recreation of the fourth day of the comeback tour, featuring top-quality audio and visuals that capture the excitement of the show, including significant changes to the setlist.
