This edition features a full recording of the May 10th Tokyo Garden Theater show, the second day in Tokyo and the final day of their Japan tour in three years, which also served as their 40th-anniversary tour and the release of their second album as a seven-member band, “GIANTS & MONSTERS.” The recording is presented in multi-stereo IEM matrix format and includes a DVD with high-quality audience footage of the same day’s performance. The multi-IEM matrix format combines stereo IEM sources with different mix balances used by each member on stage, along with a digital audience source, capturing the entire live sound of the large band, centered around the distinctive vocals of the three members and the triple guitars, with astonishing separation and resolution. While some tracks contain clicks and guides typical of IEM recordings, these have been carefully edited to a level that is barely noticeable, recreating the entire performance in soundboard quality with hybrid sound. Furthermore, the DVD footage, shot with a digital camera, is recorded from a 4K master, capturing the entire stage perfectly with virtually no obstructions. The audio is synchronized with the CD’s multi-IEM matrix source, and the overall quality, including the sound, is vastly superior to the fragmented footage found on YouTube and other platforms. This third Japanese performance with the seven-member lineup featured a significantly different setlist from the previous one in 2023. Surprisingly, it included not only new songs but also five songs from the Andy Johnson era besides “Power.” The final song, “Keeper Of The Seven Keys,” was a special version featuring only the final chorus, making for a memorable ending to the lengthy show. While audio from the broadcast footage of this day was also distributed domestically, it suffered from issues such as parts of the triple guitars cutting out and sound balance problems. However, this title is free from such issues and is at a level that would be acceptable as an official bootleg. In short, this is a limited-edition memorial item from their Japan tour that completely recreates the final performance in sound and video.
