Description

This is a superb live recording capturing Jarrett’s passionate solo performance in Madrid, Spain, from the broadcast recording to the encore of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” allowing you to share in the emotion. Jarrett’s solo concerts are always “music that exists only in that moment,” but this performance shines with a particularly unique light. Sharply cutting harmonies, unpredictable melodic leaps, and motifs repeated like a prayer. Although improvised, they inevitably connect as if it were a work written over many years. The Madrid night eventually returns to silence. But that silence is no longer the same as before. The air after the music has passed has subtly changed shape. That is what happened on this night.
