Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Lifters’ September 17th New York Port Chester concert from their 2015 North American tour is now available for the first time, featuring a complete, top-quality stereo soundboard recording leaked by someone involved in the production! They performed a string of Led Zeppelin covers, including tracks from their 2014 album “Lullaby and…The Ceaseless Roar.” “Trampled Under Foot,” “Black Dog,” “The Rain Song,” and even a medley interspersed with Zeppelin numbers like “Dazed and Confused,” “Whole Lotta Love,” and “Dying,” before concluding the encore with “Rock and Roll.” This is a noteworthy new live recording from their 2015 tour! Furthermore, this release combines the previously familiar soundboard recording with newly discovered professional video footage from the same day, creating the ultimate coupling. Now that it’s a live performance from 10 years ago, the rock-oriented playing of the then-backing band, The Sensational Space Lifters, sounds incredibly fresh. While Plant currently leads Saving Grace and is moving towards a more organic sound, he looks incredibly youthful here. Of course, that’s to be expected since it was 10 years ago, but seeing it in this perfect pro-shot footage really makes you appreciate his youth and the coolness of his rock-oriented sound back then.
