Description

In April 1983, one month before his Japan tour, Miles Davis performed at the legendary Hammersmith Odeon in London. This definitive recording, newly unearthed from a superb audience recording and restored and polished by dedicated fans, is now available. The tour, which began on January 28th in Phoenix, Arizona, and concluded on October 31st in Paris, was an impressive tour that energetically traveled the world, leaving a lasting impression on fans of Miles Davis’s complete recovery. The recording includes a printed ticket from that day, provided by the recorder himself. While some sources suggest the Hammersmith performance was on April 27th, we have used the date printed on the ticket, the 28th. With John Scofield and Mike Stern on guitar, and Bill Evan on saxophone at the forefront, and Tom Burny and Al Foster on rhythm, this is the definitive version of the perfect performance at the Hammersmith Odeon in London, presented in the best possible quality.
