This 2CD set is the first in a new series of alternate collections for the album “Dangerous,” released four years after “BAD.” It features demo versions of all the album tracks, related rare recordings, and unreleased tracks, all newly remastered for 2026. Disc 1 contains “Original Demos & Rough Mixes,” featuring unreleased recordings of all the album tracks in pre-completion demos, early outtakes, and rough mixes. These alternate versions feature different lyrics, early arrangements that differ from the final versions, and the original recordings in their raw state before overdubs were added. Disc 2, “Rare & Unreleased Tracks,” compiles tracks not included on the album, studio outtakes, demos, and more. Like “Thriller,” this album contains numerous unreleased tracks, including songs recorded around the same time but ultimately shelved, as well as original versions of songs later revived through re-recording. These include “Serious Effect,” a collaboration with LL Cool J, “Hallucination,” with Steve Porcaro, and the recently unearthed new track “Ghost of Another Lover.” In short, this title, a re-edited version of “Dangerous,” a work that symbolizes Michael at his peak, is a must-have limited collector’s edition for fans, along with upcoming releases.
