The Buffalo performance in this album is the 49th performance, past the halfway point. It was a concert that took place about seven weeks before the masterpiece “LONG BEACH 1985 SOUNDBOARD”. This release, which perfectly captures such a show, is based on the original master recording unearthed from the collection of a renowned recording engineer. That engineer is “BowlingRon,” a taper who was active in Toronto in the mid-to-late 80s and has recently released many of his original master recordings. These include WHITE LION’s “TORONTO 1987” and “TORONTO 1989,” BADLANDS’ “ROCK ‘N’ ROLL HEAVEN TORONTO 1989,” and DEF LEPPARD’s “TORONTO 1988.” Mötley Crüe’s coupling title with WHITESNAKE, “OTTAWA 1987 1ST NIGHT,” was also a great success. In the case of this release, it seems that it wasn’t recorded by “BowlingRon” himself, but by a friend who borrowed his equipment, although he may have also passed on his know-how at that time.
