Description

Mötley Crüe during their “Shout at the Devil” era, when they were aiming for world domination. A newly discovered, previously unreleased audience recording further enriches the collection of live performances from that era. This recording captures their “May 11, 1984 Chicago concert,” a powerful audience recording. This recording is a new masterpiece that has emerged from a previously almost unrecorded leg of the tour. Moreover, it is a live album that can be enjoyed at a much longer length than anything before. To explain the situation, let’s first look at some basic knowledge. Let’s organize the “Shout at the Devil Tour” collection and confirm the show’s position within it. 1983 – March 26th – April 3rd: North America #1 (6 shows) – May 29th: “US FESTIVAL 1983 UPGRADE” – September 3rd – 17th: North America #2 (3 shows) [September 26th: “SHOUT AT THE DEVIL” released] – October 31st – December 16th: North America #3 (28 shows) ← *SAN ANTONIO 1983 1984 – January 10th – March 24th: North America #4 (52 shows) ← *RED HOT IN ALBUQUERQUE – April 25th – June 15th: North America #5 (38 shows) ← ★HERE★ – August 18th – September 7th: Europe #1 (7 shows) ← *MOR 1984 series – October 15th – November 19th: Europe #2 (23 shows) ← *MILAN 1984 This is a breathtakingly clear and eye-opening first-release sound from Mötley Crüe in 1983/1984. As you can see, many excellent recordings have been unearthed from various locations on the tour, but the exception was “North America #5”. Until now, there was only one record of them, “AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984”, and even that was a short set due to it being a festival appearance. There was no satisfying full live album. This release is a first-release recording that quenches that thirst. It is a live album recorded at the 13th show of “North America #5”, which was about two weeks before “AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984”. And the sound that conveys that show is also special. It is a masterpiece created from the newly unearthed original master, and the sound is intensely clear. A powerful and sharp core cuts through the transparent atmosphere, reaching you without any sense of distance. Moreover, despite being so powerful, it has an exceptional stability that does not falter. Moreover, this release elevates the pinnacle of these previously unreleased recordings with its unique mastering process. The extremely powerful high frequencies in the original recordings found online are toned down through unique mastering to balance the ensemble, and the pitch, which was off by nearly a semitone, is precisely corrected. It’s finished as the best version. A full set of dense early songs, though lengthy, that will leave you breathless. This superb sound depicts the most metallic stage performance from the ‘SHOUT AT THE DEVIL’ era. In contrast to the short set at ‘AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984’, this is a much longer set, about 16 minutes longer. Let’s compare and organize them here. The setlist includes: 4 songs – Take Me To The Top (★★) / Merry-Go-Round (★★) / Piece Of Your Action / Live Wire 9 songs – Shout At The Devil / Bastard / Ten Seconds To Love (★) / Knock ‘Em Dead, Kid / Too Young To Fall In Love / God Bless The Children Of The Beast (★★) / Red Hot / Looks That Kill / Helter Skelter *Note: Songs marked with “★” were not played at AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984. Songs marked with “★★” are exclusive tracks that have not been played since this tour. …and so on. The setlist, which consisted of 9 songs at AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984, has been expanded to 13 songs in this release. What’s more, it’s a treat to hear limited-release tracks that weren’t played after the tour, such as “Take Me To The Top,” “Merry-Go-Round,” and “God Bless The Children Of The Beast.” “Ten Seconds To Love” is another track that wasn’t included in “AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984.” This is a rich, full-scale set centered around “SHOUT AT THE DEVIL,” but also incorporating four tracks from their debut album, “The Magnificent Passion.” The previously scarce “North America #5” tour now includes a lengthy, never-before-seen recording from a newly discovered original master. This powerful audience recording of the “May 11, 1984 Chicago performance” offers an intensely clear sound, allowing you to experience a dense, full-scale set including tour-only tracks. This superb recording, based on a newly discovered original master, delivers an intensely clear sound that feels incredibly close. The frequency balance and pitch have been optimized through unique mastering. This extended set, approximately 16 minutes longer than the one at “AMERICAN ROCK FESTIVAL 1984,” offers a rich and fulfilling 71 minutes of music, including tour-exclusive tracks.
