Description
This release features a complete 1 hour and 32 minute recording of a charity concert with Joe Cocker, held on October 3, 1993, at the Sheffield Arena in England, using a high-quality audience master recently released by a taper. This was the final performance of a series of benefit concerts held in England, and the collaboration with Joe Cocker, with whom he had grown particularly close around this time, generated considerable buzz. Incidentally, the large band, including the horn section, consisted of the same members as the Japan tour that followed shortly after, and the highlight of this live performance was the segment featuring Joe Cocker. The first half of the concert included his old and new hit songs, as well as the rare performances of “Stone Free” and “Burning Of The Midnight Lamp,” which he covered on a Jimi Hendrix tribute album he participated in and recorded at the time. The second half was a collaborative performance featuring Joe Cocker, and in the encore, Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, who supported the concert, made a surprise appearance. In short, this is a collector’s edition that is a must-listen in its entirety. Live at Sheffield Arena, Sheffield, England 3rd October 1993 : from Original MastersDisc 1 : 1. Intro. 2. White Room 3.
